Still love snow - boo for the rain :D

I think we're only a few centimeters away from breaking the record for snow in December in Vancouver.

Pouring in Vancouver now. I keep hearing big chunks of snow falling from roof.

k3lv 12-26-2008 07:48 PM

^ East Van? I'm close to Central Park just waaaaaating for it to rain

Euro7r 12-26-2008 08:01 PM

Let it rain, let it rain, let it rain haha. Getting tired of staying home now.

Home Depot on United had their roof partially collapse from the weight. Snow soaks up tons of water and gets unbelievably heavy.

Buddy called me this evening, he was going up Snake Hill to the 'rents place for dinner, lost traction part way up, managed to slide back and park himself in the snowbank off the road enough to be out of the way... then the snowplow came along and the driver started flipping out at him for blocking his way, said if buddy had been two feet further back, he could have gone around. So buddy managed to eke himself forward enough to slide back an extra two feet and back off the road... snowplow went around... and clipped his front end. Mangled the driver's side quarter panel, markers and headlight. AND KEPT ON GOING.

Buddy called the cops to report a hit-and-run, cop finally showed up, and about that time the plow came back to own up. Sounds like it'll all work out, but I'll be having to drive buddy out to YXX tomorrow to pick up his wife and kid, since his van is kaput.

k3lv 12-26-2008 08:43 PM

^ that is a shitty story, but it turned out well hopefully that plow driver did own up to the full extent.

muteki 12-26-2008 09:03 PM

Common rain!!!

hypediss 12-26-2008 09:04 PM

RAIN BRING THE TROPICAL STORM W/E it NEEDS IT TO WASH IT OUT!

orange7 12-26-2008 09:16 PM

not even a tropical storm can free my car from my garage..

parents were really smart and sacrificed my car for theirs..

they shoveled all the snow on the driveway and their car onto the entrance of the garage where i parked my car..

snow is like 2 meter high.. i doubt my car has the clearance for that.

h=2m, w=8m, L=4m

Turns out buddy did have a witness as well, guy coming down the hill the other way that saw the whole thing, so he stopped and left his info... dunno if he stuck around to give the cop a statement, but they can contact him now if need be.

So, being the fine young man that you are, you let your parents do the shovelling? Sweetness.
