It has more to do with which country you hold a citizenship with, not necessarily where you were born.

Edit: You can also count Paul DiPietro. Born in Canada but got Swiss citizenship and plays for their national team.

nice pwnage..nvm!

Been a nutty season so far... LOTTA blowouts, TONS of points coming off turnovers all over the place!

Week 1, MTL 40 @ CAL 27

Week 2, MTL 50 @ EDM 16

Week 3, BC 40 @ EDM 22; TOR 9 @ CAL 44; MTL 43 @ SSK 10

Nope, it was talked about during the season that he might be considered but in the end he didn't get an invite.

winson604 07-20-2009 12:48 PM

Also in semi Canuck related news Sanford has signed with the Canadiens.

I wonder if his decline in performance during the playoffs had something to do with it

possibly..and do you really think that the management would put Burrows on team Canada? I mean I would have loved to see him there but I knew all along that he won't make it nor get the invite..

The Sedins play for Sweden.. Kesler for USA.. so ya..lol

They might if they want him to fill a certain roll. In 2002 they had Peca who has a career high 60 points and in 2006 they had Draper who's career high points for a season is 40.

He hasn't got one yet and he probably won't get an invite but if he comes out strong this season it's still possible although probably not likely. He would be looked at as a gritty roll player with an offensive upside not to light the lamp and lead the team in goals.

trancehead 07-21-2009 02:04 PM

Sedin Sedin Samuelsson
Burrows Kesler Demitra
Bernier Hodgson Raymond
Rypien Johnson Hordi

With Schroeder and Grabner on the wings...we have some good forward depth. I can bet Demitra will get injured in the middle of the season and we will have Grabner come in. Kyle Wellwood can go jerk himself in the corner.

we just need some D now!!

quasi 07-21-2009 02:06 PM

I hope Grabner comes up and steals Raymonds spot, I'm not a big fan.

Hondaracer 07-21-2009 03:16 PM

hmm.. i think i'd prefer raymond, and alot of people have said that if grabner ever does break into the NHL, he wont be able to play a 4th line role, he needs to be in a scoring position etc.

i'd say White is pretty much a write-off if ganger is saying he needs to reinvent himself

Ronin 07-21-2009 04:49 PM

There's a rumor that we traded Hansen and Raymond for Kaberle...

clowe 07-21-2009 05:01 PM

I think it was a fake thread on canucks.com saying we traded Hansen, Raymond and a 2nd rounder for Kaberle :p
