The goals that occur in the first 5 mins of the game or the last min of the period are the one's that hurt and are never a good sign and Canucks have been giving up those type of goals of late.

And I seriously hope we get the win on Sat. Avs did us a favor by losing tonight but we've pissed away 4 points already. On the radio they predicted that Canucks will go 4-1 in the remaining 5 games, I think it'll be close to 3-2, maybe even 2-3.

Puckdaddy from yahoo predicted the canucks going 8-4-2 for the entire road trip. So far we've got half the losses so I hope this team can turn it around. 8-4-2 would be awesome

boston has lost 8 straight...haven't won in 3 weeks. either we bounce back with a strong game against a struggling team, or get beat by a hungrier team.

then again it's fucking bullshit that the game is at 930! thank go that they should be used to the eastern time zone by now.

Greenstoner 02-04-2010 11:27 PM

fuck 8 straight ????????????? oh man...... we are known for streak killer but never to our own good .lol

Greenstoner 02-04-2010 11:31 PM

halak is hot ... 45/47 save tonight 0.957%

Anyone else feel that NJ won the Kovalchuk deal.

They were able to input a highly talented winger into the lineup without touching the core: Parise, Zajac, Lagenbrunner.

Allthough they did lose some good talent in Bergfors and Cormier. Is Odouya a top 4 d-man in the western conference? I think not.

Grandmaster TSE 02-05-2010 01:01 AM

well you gotta think, might be a good deal on paper
but you have to remember that kovi is just a rental player
still good deal for NJ, but kovi doesn't have to stick with NJ after this season

Vansterdam 02-05-2010 06:25 AM

how did raycroft look overall in the game?

Hondaracer 02-05-2010 06:40 AM

He looked ok but the goals weren't great

games like these where the sedins can't get a decent cycle going are somewhat concerning

U a flamers fan (flamer talk)

REALLY?!?!?!
so what are you?

as for the ATL/NJ movement
guess ATL got a solid youngin in Bergfors and errr I guess Cromier ok

Now what i've been hearin from my friend who follows and worships the Devils and Broduer have told me that the reason why NJ requested to swap 2nd rounders was so NJ can use ATL,s 2nd round to aquire more assets!

Yea, they haven't been able to play their game on this road trip so far. It also looks like Burrows is trying to hard out there, sometimes making questionable plays.

Pretty much when the Sedins don't show up, the game goes down the drain lol.

Scandella's hit...i fucking broke the visor!

I don't know if anyone has mentioned it, but Kovolchuk could easily go to the KHL next year. He knows he could get top dollar there (more than what ATL was offering). Play this season out and head to the KHL.

Yup, that was one of the biggest gambles for Kovalchuk.

But financially it makes sense because what they get is tax free in Russia.

I can see it happen in the offseason.

spoon.ek9 02-05-2010 11:34 AM

i think it'll be very interesting to see what kind of impact kovalchuk will have on the NJ team. and it would be a shame if he jumps ship to the KHL :(

Kovalchuk is the gamebreaker, He will always be an "impact"
not many in the league can take one or two shots a game and score both, and thats all he will ahve done. He can do these down a goal last minute and score.

NJ's test isnt tonight, the devils will be tested 2molo when they play the Rangers. That already thin blueline will have their work cut out against Gabby.

spoon.ek9 02-05-2010 11:48 AM

i'm more curious see what kind of chemistry he will have with NJ linemates. we all know what kovy is capable of by himself :p

oh and lol @ your honger "2molo"

Well...you got most of them. I heard a while back there was only 26 Russians in the NHL. If Sergei Fedorov at age 40 can get 14m a year tax free, imagine what Kovalchuk can get.

I'm reading conflicting numbers on the Fedorov contract but here's where the 14m came from:
Quote:

"(Alexander) Medvedev is on a mission," said the GM, who requested anonymity. "He’s paying (Sergei) Fedorov $14 million this season so how much do you think he’d pay to get Kovalchuk? Twenty million a season? That’s what I’ve heard."

trip 02-05-2010 01:22 PM

^ holy fuck feddy ???

MR_BIGGS 02-05-2010 01:22 PM

Apparently Kovi is a "good" guy in the locker room. They were talking with Ferraro who use to play with him in ATL. He did bring Malkin and Ovechkin together (who didn't like each other) last year and sat them down to make a truce or something. I think he'll fit well in NJ. Once the Devils get their top Dman back, there a solid solid team
