Anyways... is this AP2 any of you guys on here? I swear I see you almost everyday to and from work except we're always going the opposite way. I thought we could get to know each other or something :alone: lol jk, sounds like a missed connection :troll:

Mine was kinda looking like yours today, but I realized that it focuses on even a miniscule amount of dirt or anything on the windshield, so that might have been the issue.

Just another day in Vancouver Part II - YouTube

There is just so much wrong with what happened that it really requires a second look.

The first time, you think it's going to be another car. Then you realize it isn't the one running the stale yellow but the one that guns it at a red.

Then you watch it the second time and see this very same car slow down and almost come to a complete stop for the yellow and when the light turns red, you notice she is still behind the line. Then half a second later, decides to gun it on a red.

Win.

I recorded a few red light runners as well, but this tops the list of being the worst!

It'll be HD, but you're going to unmount that everytime you get out!

my dad bought that one from aliexpress for 60ish
it's definitely on the bulkier side...but the quality is good for that pricepoint imo

Well, that was a short life to my dashcam owning experience. Got my socket set stolen out of my trunk, and dashcam out of my glove box today. First time I've ever left these in the car and ugh.

godwin 03-20-2012 10:54 PM

Thanks for the heads up! I searched thread to find out how it was done but came up empty - this explains it.

PM me if interested. We'll go from there.

I just started using my Blackvue for a few days and so far it's been great!

godwin 03-21-2012 09:37 AM

For those who are looking for Blackvue or has a Blackvue.. RFD has a pretty comprehensive thread about it (custom software) and potential groupbuy etc [Merged] The Official BlackVue DR400G-HD Owners Thread - RedFlagDeals.com Forums I am not sure GB is worth the hassle considering you can get one for $235ish by yourself on ebay.

jing 03-21-2012 10:18 AM

We got ours for $180... A ~20% savings is worth it imo

I will say that anyone looking to do a purchase of more than 1 unit may be outta luck....when I contacted the same people on ebay that all the RS people bought off he told me no stock until mid Feb....then it was end of Feb....then he jacked up his price $100....so good luck....if anyone can see if they can buy more than one unit at a time that would be news to me (at the price of $180)

also where the RS people bought from before the seller does not sell them anymore

Been doing a bit of research online thru googling Alibaba, ebay, DX etc.... Most of the cheaper DVRs under $90~ that say full 1080P don't tell you its 15FPS so you're getting choppy video unless you revert back to 720P @ 30FPS

Only ones that have True 1080P @ 30FPS tier (I've seen) is in the $120+ range so be prepared to shell out $$$ for quality.

The one I've been playing around with is the DV808 keychain cam which is a toy but gives an OK 720x480 .Mjpeg (Interlaced if you ask me) but I can't complain much since it was only $12 and the size of an alarm fob. There IS a 720P version for $30 bucks but it still doesn't have the features I want like Loop-recording, Wide Lens and Motion detect, so I Might as well pay for a decent $40-$70 720P H.264 wide-angle dash cam DVR later on.

I found this on a VW forum
VWVortex.com - Good Dash-Cam Setup?

Google maps opens on a tab if you are reviewing content with the BlackVue software

jagan323 03-27-2012 05:18 PM

There seems to be a lot of options out there. I'm recently looking at investing in one. Do most of you guys hardwire it into the car? I just don't want the power adaptor to hang all over the place. Has anyone spliced some wires? =D
