Do you leave it on the vehicle? How visible is the unit from outside? lol

Didn't really notice when I first saw the video, but we know whereabouts he lives now, LOL.

Not that I'm the stalking kind. If only it was Miss Crayon's vid....... hee hee. j/k

^ Who said thats my house ? Who said I'm even a guy ? :troll: :suspicious: Should have posted one while I was on the road :okay:

I would you get you photos from the outside, but my phone died and I don't really have a decent camera. But you can't really see it, unless you're peering through the glass. For me, I could only see the suction cup.

Link in the spoiler,

^ I can't image that one being that hidden. Seeing as it is much bigger than the blackvue, and even the blackvue is easy to spot when mounted.

Also, hopefully the new f/w fixes the on going issue. Has anyone tried a new microSD card yet?

Paradise240 04-22-2012 05:34 PM

^ Thats because it's not hidden :lol

I meant cause you said you couldnt really see it unless peering through the glass.

Also, the BV takes microSD cards.

The last firmware update 1.039 seemed rock stable. It took a little longer to fire up, but I didn't have anymore "please check the SD card" errors or powering down issues. The latest update hopefully seals the deal for perfect function! And yes, I've tried a new microSD card by ADATA that was a class 4 and it worked fine. I think the issue was software related and not the memory cards.

Sky_High 04-22-2012 09:27 PM

Just buy one of these. Can't go wrong for Kingston + $7 bucks.

Kingston 8GB microSDHC Class 4 Flash Memory Card - Kingston - SDC4/8GBCR

1.039e, I had problems with during the beginning. Then I formatted and re upgraded firmware and it was fine, until a couple days ago, then the problem started again.

I upgraded to the newest 1.040 today, I took it for a test drive. Got the problem again...sighh..

16GB > 8GB. Next card if I am to upgrade would be a 32GB.

hmmm interesting... after your format your SD card, are you able to copy and paste stuff onto it? When I was having my issues, even after formatting there was some issue with the card, but I eventually got a proper format (double full overwrite formatted it) and so far so good *knock on wood*

In the owner's manual, it says "SD cards are an expendable item," maybe this unit tends to eat them up~

TOS'd 04-23-2012 11:51 AM

hmm, tried to reformat my card via windows explorer and its saying windows is unable to. Also I tried to delete some older videos and they reappear, haha. Might just bite the bullet and go buy a new microSD.

CP.AR 04-23-2012 12:34 PM

Maybe you overlooked things and have the SD lock button on?

TOS'd 04-23-2012 12:42 PM

^ Nope. SD lock switch wasnt on. Quick and Full format does not work through windows explorer. Trying another formatting software now.

Gh0stRider 04-23-2012 12:44 PM

turned off the voice alarms. gonna see if it actually works.

Gh0stRider 04-24-2012 11:33 AM

nice...no longer have the "blackvue for your safe driving. starting normal recording" "your blackvue is now shutting down"

!Aznboi128 04-24-2012 02:12 PM

I actually like that feature I let my car warm up till then

Dude, use the blackvue SD card formatter program off their website and do a full overwrite!

Turned off all the sounds eh? It's cool until you realize you weren't recording for whatever reason lol

hc529 04-25-2012 05:41 PM

Fuuuuu my blackvue just gave me the "please check ur sd card" after 1 full week of 1.039 firmware. I guess I'm gonna upgrade or downgrade tonight and see what happens.
Since some people still have problem with the newest updte

So far mines been okay even with 1.039 *knock on wood* 1.040 is working good so far! After you use their SD card formatter, check to see if you're able to paste files into the SD card. My repeat SD card errors occurred when the formatting messed itself.

TOS'd 04-26-2012 02:20 AM

So far mines been good *knock on wood*, using a new 32GB microsd card.

Don't know if this has been posted but for those that want a dash cam ncix now has one

Mediasonic Infrared Night Vision HD DVR 2.5IN LCD 720p Car Dash Video Recorder Camera SD USB - Mediasonic - MLG-7017CVR

Sky_High 04-27-2012 02:08 PM

^ I wouldn't pay more than $35 for those type of dash cam's.

LuHua 05-01-2012 12:16 PM

^No, that price isn't bad actually. It's the dvr-027, it does have hd recording at 720 with ok quality and it's around the same price on ebay.

Sky_High 05-03-2012 01:29 AM

Not necessary a deal breaker....but for all of you that bought the DR-400G, did you guys just use the adhesive tape? Sucks tthat they didn't include an optional suction cup mount.

But I guess without the suction cup, it create less cutter and more "hidden".

Anyone purchase the "Power Magic Pro" ? Or did you guys just all hardwire it directly?
