What's up with the camera though. 5mp? I know mp is not the most important thing but seems strange that they're still on 5mp instead of going for 8.

I think it will. Corning hopefully is able to make a curved gorilla glass by now.

I'd rather get a kickass 5mp than a soso 8mp.

!MiKrofT 10-18-2011 01:10 PM

Yeah it's nice. Although for me the camera is a secondary feature so I could care less what's on it :)

Its crazy to think that this comparison will ever be made, but it has

iphone4s vs Canon5DmkII 1080p shootout
Siri, does the iPhone 4S keep up with a $3000 Canon 5D Mark II? Answer points to yes | MobileSyrup.com

that f2.4 aperture is damn scary and it rivals most top of the line PnS cameras

as secondary as a camera for me, this is pretty damn impressive.

i'll wait and see tonight b4 I make my decision to go from NexusS to Prime or ip4s

With all the speculation on the camera, it all comes down at 7pm tonight to see how many mp the camera is.

to be fair, its not exactly hard for any camera to have great looking video in broad daylight. once the light gets dim, thats when the challenge begins.

!Yaminashi 10-18-2011 02:07 PM

With the f2.4 camera it should be pretty damn good

!MiKrofT 10-18-2011 02:25 PM

For night shots? Not necessarily.

An F2.4 with a tiny sensor will be good. But not awesome. It's the same issue with point and shoots with fast F stops.

The iPhone 4S may have nice optics but the sensor may be what lets it down at night. I haven't seen any night comparisons so I can't say for sure.

Interesting comparison. Devices are fairly close to each other.
