if it's too intense for you just take out some exercises for the first couple of weeks then slowly integrate them in. Keep your calories high and your lifts/weight will skyrocket! I've gained about 6 pounds in the last 2 weeks of doing this

It does look a bit intense but I'll give it a try! Thanks for this guys was a good read too.

I kind of want to lose some fat at the same time though, or should I focus on this and then try to lose the fat after?

Gh0stRider 06-05-2013 10:40 AM

those that do HIIT, how often do you do it?

hotong 06-05-2013 11:21 AM

^ 3 times a week for 10 min

Suprarz666 06-05-2013 01:49 PM

well i ended up getting hand foot mouth disease. this has been the worst week ever. such a bullshit disease. feels like i put my hands into needles and fire.

losing fat is mostly diet.. stray away from the junk, calculate how many calories you need to maintain and eat based on that. The program has a lot of volume though so I think it'll help with fat loss, I sweat more than I ever have during the workouts lol

alwayslive 06-05-2013 04:38 PM

^try sprints? or if you have access to one, try a punching bag? Just stick to the principals of HIIT in regards to work/rest

Suprarz666 06-05-2013 05:44 PM

i think forbidden should stay on a basic strength program, add in HIIT and watch the diet. I feel PHAT is quite intense during a cut and it will tire you out FAST.

imo PHAT requires a solid strength base before you start the program, which is also why i stopped it and switched back to a strength based one.

Any one of u here Kettlebell users?

I just downloaded the this old school Steve Cotter dvd, they are like 10min workouts on upper/lower/core, 3 sets of each..I'm new to this but they talk so much about "functional strength" I figure I try it out

Its good as an accessory/secondary excercise but powerlifting and olympic lifting are superior to any other form of exercise for f (x) tional strength

I actually started deadlifting and squatting heavily aroudn 2 months back and its helped "function", in terms of basketball/running/cylcing, I've improved quite a bit....I am actually keen to progress to powerlifting, i shouldn't really do that myself right? I figure if I start very light and work on technique it'll be fine....but I probably should pony up the dough and hire a PT to learn properly..

When's the next RS competition? It's been a while since we did the bench press challenge.

This. I remember the day where noodles said he would post it tonight. Well tonight never came. My body is ready.

instantneedles 06-05-2013 09:32 PM

didn't do it because I didn't want to interfere too much for the guys competing this weekend

there's a catch though - they better get first

anyhow, 3 plate max rep Saturday night before the meet? :troll:

kingdrew 06-05-2013 09:33 PM

Halfway through the 2nd week of sheiko 29. Feeling like the bench is a little too light. Thinking about adding at least 5% for next week
