I use to eat like that Halo....but didn't work out as hard as you did. And developed high blood pressure...so I stopped. True story :okay: |
First time squatting in 2 months due to knee injury not sure if i have good form so here a video for you guy to check on my form also belt help a lot |
Not surprising you have knee issues. Those shoes don't look appropriate for squatting. I noticed the imbalance, the weight goes to your front of your feet, putting pressure on your knees. You need squat with only socks/chucks/weightlifting/ something with a decent flat sole- shoes on. And even then, direct the weight to the middle/back, and along the sides, when you squat. Hope you don't rely on the belt too much either, you lessen the impact of core development, a great results from squatting. I remember the first video you showed us, the squatting and instability. You mentioned you were self taught? Might want to keep reading on how to squat, or watch youtube videos more thoroughly. You're going to wreck something like those guys that do deadlifts with rounded backs. |
^^ I've noticed a few guys in my gym squatting with high-ankle chucks on Posted via RS Mobile |

Like others have said, maybe try some flat soled shoes, or something hard to squat on... as you can tell from the video, it looks a bit shaky at the bottom awesome job nonetheless |
IMO you're kinda stuck between a hybrid high and low bar style, you should stick with one |
meh as long as the bar is tight on the traps and doesn't shift around when he squats i don't see it being too much of a problem |

For squats.... is it wrong to have feet no wider than shoulder width? I feel I can go lower, heavier and work the quads more than if I have a narrower stance. My ass is big enough with hockey non sense. |
As Dave Tate has stated before, squats are personal. The most optimal form for each person is in relation to his/her body structure, limb length, etc. I used to do primarily low bar before but I couldn't get the best depth feet wide apart without anterior pelvic tilt. Also did high bar with the bar on my traps and I could hit atg but I didn't like how that felt on my traps. Now I switched it a mix of both high/low bar. You really have to keep experimenting and find what works for you. |
