That elbow pain is what caused me to stop lifting last go round. If your doing tri exercises pay special attention to your hand position and the effect it has on your elbow. You can get cortisone shots for temp relief, deca also does a great job. Berz out. Posted via RS Mobile |
L0uie update pls |
First meet: Got there at 8, started lifting at around 11:30. Forgot to hand in my second attempt for squat, so i kept my third safe, less than what i wanted it to be. Rushed my second attempt for bench and forgot to wait for the start command. Total: Squat 140kg Bench 85kg Deadlift 150kg Definitely felt like i could have added another 10-20 kilos to my squat and deadlift. Regret not going man-mode :( For a number of reasons, it felt easier to lift there than in the gym. And to my surprise, i got first out of 5 people in my 66kg age and weight class. Louie's session started at 5:30, so i imagine he finished last night around midnight. I'm not sure i will be participating in the next meet. My last attempt at deadlifting left me unsatisfied and wanting more as it ended up being too light. Get hoooge or get strong? OR both...... |
nice meeting you phozy and nice work at the meet! Got there at 11 and didn't start lifting till 5:30 like phozy said. Was mentally tired as fuck sitting around doing nothing. As for myself i went 5/9, i was able to go 3/3 for squat ending with 202.5/446 but wasn't happy because my 2nd attempt was 200/440 but i got called for time for handing in my 3rd attempt so they bumped it 2.5kg to 202.5. I wanted to attempt 210/462, it was prob gonna look ugly but i felt i had it in me. After hearing not being able to attempt it my head wasn't in and made 446 look a lot harder than it should have been. As for bench only got my opener, 110/242 and the other 2 (117.5/259, 120/264 (3rd attempt felt a lot easier than 2nd)) got called for butt off bench. Deadlift got my opener at 210/462, couldn't lock out 227.5/501 on my 2nd and ran out of gas on 3rd attempt with same weight. Squat: 202.5/446 Bench: 110/242 Deadlift: 210/462 Total: 552.5/1151.9 @ 81/178 Wilks: 353.9 Will post vid later. Situation went 9/9, i chalked him well and my buddy killed the 74kg open |
nice lifts guys btw anybody in the richmond area should hit up sports club come train with me and hotong hahah |

It definitely helps I think, to have someone (your personal bitch) help you out during the meet |
Didn't get a chance to meet you phozy. I was the 83kg guy in the crossfit shirt if you happened to see me prancing around. Overall the meet was long as fuck. Didnt get out of there till midnight. Pretty happy with my weights. I hit all of my attempts with no fails. My squat wasn't as high as I wanted it to be, but thats because I did only high bar (just converted from low bar recently). Squat 187.5kg / 413.4lb Bench 125.0kg / 275.6lb Deadlift 220.0kg / 485lb PR in both deadlifts and squats. Weird thing about my deadlift is that its way higher at competitions than at the gym. The other 2 are relatively on par. By a miracle I ended up with a gold medal only because this beast of a man didnt qualify because he hasn't lived in BC long enough. This guy was strong as fuck. Deadlifting over 6 plates. Good job to louie and vince with their trademark pre lift stomps and shouts. I've been stuck at on my barbell row for 2 sessions now what should i do? i'm doing 5x5 with 3 min rest. stuck at 145lbs. by stuck i mean i can't row it all strictly and i resort to cheating it up. |

lay off weights or any tricep related for 4 weeks minimum to let swelling subside, if it still hurts like a mofo go get an xray |

I am kinda new to this whole thing lol.. can someone explain this post to me in lamen's terms lol..i understand the lift weights like 202.5/446 etc... but i dont understand the 9/9 and WILKS? and i know the total is everything added together, but what is @ 81/178? And why dont they let you add more weight if you are competing for the most weight? I know that is a lot of questions. I would appreciate if someone could take the time to explain it... tia |

wilks is a forumla used to judge who is the best lifter and is based on weights lifted to bodyweight 81/178 is what my bodyweight that day was, 81kg/ 178lbs you are given 1 minute after your lift is completed to hand in your next attempt. if you exceed that minute they either make you reattempt the weight (if it was not successfully lifted) or bump you up to the next weight which is usually ~5-6lbs |
