Lol, give or take around 10%…some experienced more. I think what kept me up bit was I was still exercising outdoors and what not during hte summer, and push ups and chin ups, just no weights.

Coach, youll probably have a lot of work to do when you get back, but make sure you rest up nice and long, you dont want to preemptively start working out again and risk further damage thatll affect you in the future.

Started using an 'ab roller' today. Holy crap! It's a lot harder than any crunch or hanging leg raise, that's for sure! I can feel my lower back being worked too, and that's good.

Totally, when I get back I'm gonna start lighter with high reps and work my way back up :(
It drives me absolutely NUTS just thinking about how long I'm gonna be out for.
I'd guess at LEAST 3 months

I know I'm beating a dead horse, but I talked to a guy at the gym who had a hernia when he was 12, got surgery done, popped it again a year later cause he went straight back into playing hockey and basketball
Yikes!

I'm so excited!
Last doctor visit they told me to come back if I start experiencing any discomfort of any kind.. and last visit it wasnt my family doctor cause he wasnt in.

So I had another appointment today, this time my family doctor spent more time poking around than the last doctor (which sort of seemed to rush me out), and actually took the time to sit down and explain to me the difference.
He told me mine is indirect, not a direct inguinal hernia and that its too big to become strangulated.

He said I'm free to be as active as I want and sees absolutely zero risk in going back to the weights

:)

!Yaminashi 12-21-2009 08:22 PM

It is sick! first thing I did when I got home was loaded up on food, waited a bit and hit the gym to rape my back. Although just to be safe I stayed away from the deadlifts lol

I lost a bit of strength already :( My back is gonna be SORE tomorrow :)

sholders back fo me, best monday night ive had in a long time. apparently if you go to bed at a decent hour saturday and sunday and eat right all weekend, you CAN make gains on a monday :haha:

hit 50lb's on bumbell sholder press for the first time tonight, 2 sets of 6 after 3 sets of 7 on 45 :D

RRxtar 12-21-2009 09:36 PM

finally manned up to 70lb db shoulder presses for a set of 6 after having already done 4x7x65. feel pretty good about it.

did 6x80lbs DB shoulder presses today on my 4th set.

edit:

4 months to go from struggling my first ever set of 70s to doing my first ever set of 80s. hm..

hud 91gt 12-21-2009 09:53 PM

Shoulders are definitely a weak point for myself. Finished off 3x7x45 today, compared to my 3x8x85 on the the old chest press... Doesn't seem right. Can I use being tall as an excuse?

you can if i can. :D

tall = longer limbs = have to move the weight a greater distance = increased joint movement angles

!Yaminashi 12-21-2009 10:12 PM

azzurro32 12-22-2009 10:09 PM

Any of you guys smoke weed and work out? Not necessarily working out high. But do you think it sets back your gains? My main concern is the munching out that can happen afterwards lol
