i know its a long period of rest

anyone solve the shin splint problem?

Try foam rollers. I have rolled my shins on them and they worked for me. It hurts at first so gently apply your body weight then increase to your whole body.

Most gyms have them, other wise you can buy one for 50 bucks at fitness depot.

I'm a believer in foam rolling now. I do it quite a bit and it feels great. You can really feel the pain (in a good way) when you hit a muscle properly.

Berz out.

most trainers say the same shit most of the time, they are not going to get you doing dead lifts and stuff that can cause you to hurt your self and sue them. there going to give you a mediocre training style.

there is more then a couple pieces of useful stuff in this thread

I go to Goodlife in Burnaby and they go through trainers like underwear.
Constant revolving door of new trainers .

The ones i see there are downright shit.

There are 2 trainers that have absolutely no respect for.

1 trainer was letting a guy deadlift 135lbs with a rounded back and shitty foot placement and was encouraging him the whole way.

Another trainer was watching a noob squat 95 lbs with his chest pretty much parallel with the floor and didn't correct for at all.

The gym constantly tries to push people into personal training and im like :heckno:

eat every 2-3 hours to keep your metabolism going. If you're trying to lose weight just eat a 1500 deficit.

NO NO NO. Multiple meals a day does not speed up your metabolism.

I've been trying to bulk the last 2 months, went from 1 lunch --> 2 lunches --> 2 lunches + 2 granola bars and still no weight gain, though muscle/strength gains have increased.

That's not very many incremental calories for a teenager. Using calories in/calories out (yes I know it's not perfect), the difference is only a 800ish calorie difference (2 granola bars at 100 each and estimating 600 for a sandwich).

At 15, your metabolic needs are super high because you're growing too. Need more calories.
