Yep. Unlimited (5gb before throttling) data :sweetjesus:

604Sparda 12-30-2012 05:09 PM

I ported over as well. $29 unlimited plan.
Paid $25 for sim + $29 to load my 1st month + tax.

They gave me $50 credit but i dont see it on my account. I will have to go back and ask them

I love having the $29 plan. I do prepaid; $64.96 gives me two months of cellphone. $20 less than a single month of my old Rogers deal.

Ah, foreign-backed competition. How I love you.

Chronix 12-30-2012 07:40 PM

does the $29 plan have caller id?

planning to cancel fido tmr and switch to this.

dub.g 12-30-2012 07:45 PM

^ yup

it doesnt have voicemail though.. thats included in the unlimited wish plan 40

but if someone calls you in an area where there is no reception, when you get it back, it sends you a text message of the number that tried to reach you

Chronix 12-30-2012 08:02 PM

Ah ok, and the Samsung s3 is cheaper if I go with the $40 plan instead of the $29 one right?

Yep. But remember you're paying $11x36 ($396) over three years. If that's worth the extra discount (assuming you don't use the other features in the $40 package) then go for that.

One of the reasons that Wind offers better rates is because their phone subsidies are lower. It's all about the long-term view.

dub.g 12-30-2012 08:30 PM

the $40 unlimited wish plan basically eliminates your roaming charges if you go out of bounds of wind's coverage and if you go to the states.. its an insane deal IMO

only the data is not included in roaming.. you still get charge $1 a mb

ya part of the cost of your phone goes on windtab and every month, 10% is subtracted of what you owe

willystyle 12-30-2012 08:49 PM

Free Voicemail with Freephoneline.ca

You can get a FREE LIFETIME voicemail account simply by getting a 604 or 778 number from Freephoneline.ca, then forward all your busy or missed calls to that number.

If you're using an Android phone (specifically Cyanogenmod. It might work with stock rom, or any other rom). You can forward all your calls to a specific number if your line is busy, or you don't want to pick up. Just forward all your busy calls to your freephoneline number (make sure you change the number of rings to 0 on your freephoneline account, so it goes straight to your voicemail after the call is forwarded ).

Your voicemails will arrived via. e-mail to your e-mail inbox then you can just directly play ur voicemails off your email attachment to hear the content of the message. Save myself $8 per month from the $29 per month plan and I get "visual voicemail". :D

Cheers!

I have a promo code for $50 credit for new customers from their facebook fan day two weeks ago. They screwed the promotion up and sent out the code well after the day of "liking" their page, and I had already signed up for the $29 plan two days before I got the emailed code. Unfortunately, after 2 calls to CS and visiting a kiosk, the code still 'cannot be applied' to my account, despite them saying it can as long as I visit the other type of customer service. I've heard Wind's customer service was bad; after wasting two hours dealing with them, I can certainly attest to that.

/rant

PM me your email address if you want the code, Chronix :) It's supposed to expire tomorrow.

dub.g 12-30-2012 11:17 PM

^^ yup horrible customer service through the phone.. i heard its outsourced in the philippines, it seems the service people there are clueless about their own systems and promotions, when i switch my plan the holiday plan back in november, i had to tell on phone to check the wind website because they didnt know such plan exist

and ya just a heads up chronix, when you sign up, make sure you get the holiday unlimited wish 40, and not the regular unlimited 40 plan.. i can see them making an error like that so easily

Wait, what do you mean it "eliminates roaming charges"? The promo I see just says "unlimited calling to North America" &c &c. That means when you're in a wind home zone you can call across North America, not that you can call anywhere from wind away zones for free.

you have to stay in a Wind Home Zone to get "Free" unlimited calling.. it doesnt mean you can go into the US and make free calls...

unless you get the roaming package, which will be cheaper but you still have to pay per minute.

My bell contract is done in jan 30th...I hope they roll out another unlimited $29 plan.

Graeme S 12-31-2012 04:59 PM

Most likely not until September; usually back to school and Christmas.

You should just bite the bullet and subscribe to that plan now, or cancel your Bell contract earlier.

Graeme S 12-31-2012 05:03 PM

+1 to willystyle; you'll end up spending an extra hundred bucks over the next 9 months if you wait and you take the $40 plan.

satek 12-31-2012 08:32 PM

well it's too late now :( I decided to wait because I assumed they'd have some kind of new years promo.

You guys think its worth it to switch? I'm on the mobilicity bts and I'm paying 26 taxes in. Is it worth the $3+ per month?

Personally for me, I'd switch just for the better coverage and reception.
