Not really racist! 03-17-2013 09:51 PM

possibly gonna switch from mobi....

Pvan 03-18-2013 12:13 AM

I have a dilemma should i sign up for wind now and grab the blackberry z10 or wait for the new s4 to come out in april... im impatient i know the s4 would out perform the z10 in everyway but its still a great phone been with fido for 10 years now and its starting to suck real bad

Graeme S 03-18-2013 12:18 AM

As much as I've been a fan of Samsung in past, I'd say either the N4 for it's Cost: value, or the HTC One for its solidity and good times.

I don't need 8 cores...and pentile? :heckno:

FerrariEnzo 03-18-2013 05:08 AM

Do it. I just transferred over a month ago, and for $5/month more, everything from voice, coverage to internet speed was an improvement.

Psykopathik 03-21-2013 02:02 PM

Seems like Wind is up for sale. just read this on HoFo

AWS iPhone is released on T-Mobile April 12th

Existing iPhone 5 handsets cannot have AWS support enabled, but Apple is shipping the new A1428 carrier-unlocked on April 12th

Psykopathik 03-26-2013 12:30 PM

yup. posted in the iPhone thread. good news, however too late. I'll never go back to iPhone. I've had a taste of the Android life, and its gooooood.....

willystyle 03-26-2013 01:13 PM

Too little too late for Apple on the AWS band for T-Mobile.

Spoon 03-26-2013 01:45 PM

If android handsets keep getting bigger and bigger, my next phone might actually be an iphone if they stay usable with one hand.

FerrariEnzo 03-31-2013 03:02 PM

Wind sale is heating a storm..

Tony Lacavara and Naguib Sawiris wants to buy Wind again.. damn it... they messed up first time.. second go, maybe good, maybe bad...

FairFax, an investor for Blackberry, is also interested... I would think this would be better... If FairFax acquires Wind Canada, I think we would see exclusive BB for Wind only OR first priority over robelus...

MTV Cribs 03-31-2013 03:10 PM

I hope their deal is better then Fongo's offer. $1 and 49% of Fongo LOL

There will always be a line of smaller screen phones, as long as you don't mind that it isn't a flagship.

I am one of the few that don't mind bigger phones at all. :)

I, too, don't hope that Tony Lacavara and its investors purchase WIND again. They don't know to manage the company.

It was a straight up marketing ploy on Fongo's part. They don't have intentions to buy WIND.

optiblue 04-03-2013 01:22 PM

I'm in the burnaby deer lake area and have actually noticed a decrease in reception. At my gf's place in coquitlam, I used to get 1 bar, but now it seems to want to always be in roaming.

FerrariEnzo 04-03-2013 01:47 PM

I actually activated a Bell tablet hotspot for my Nexus4... its a flex data plan...

$5-10mb | $15 - 250mb | $35 - 5GB

So if you go past 10mb, you will be bumped up to the $15 flex rate and so on.. which I think is good.. even at $35, 5GB is a lot...

Im actually using Fongo (provides free local calling and give you a local phone number). There is a slight delay when talking but I can live with that for the increase in speed. I will be testing this out for 1-2months and if I like it, I will be porting over and just doing this.. My talking time usage barely hits 50mins/month so voice network isnt an issues for me... So as I said, the delay in the voice doesnt bother me... LTE speed is amazing.. NOW I can finally surf the net and whatnot with having to wait...

At $35 for 5GB and not tied to a contract is awesome!!

Graeme S 04-03-2013 01:56 PM

I'd be kind of sketch without 911, what's the deal with that?

willystyle 04-03-2013 04:41 PM

It's because they have no way of tracking exactly where you are in times that you're unable to respond during a 911 call. They are developing new technology now for first responders to locate where you are via. GPS on your mobile devices. It's still in the very early stages. I would not bet my life on that.

neat... it will probably get a lot of people to join Wind though i guess.. maybe

Graeme S 04-12-2013 04:20 PM

I don't think it'll get a lot of people to join wind, but itll help ease the feelings of the people who don't want to leave the iWorld. I mean, how many empty-headed teens do you know who don't want to abandon their iPhones? I know a decent chunk. Having an iPhone will be really helpful for wind's longevity.

Though I don't look forward to the data clogging it'll inevitably bring. Stupid inefficient iPhones.

FerrariEnzo 04-12-2013 04:39 PM

nice.. its out...

but I will stay with my Android.. I like the customization of it..

TPMarko 04-17-2013 02:34 PM

anyone else unable to get a signal from wind this afternoon? using galaxy nexus but no service signal.

Graeme S 04-17-2013 02:42 PM

I'm good. Went from Burnaby to West Van through downtown and no troubles here.

TPMarko 04-17-2013 03:08 PM

strange it was down in richmond for me (since 3pm) but seems to be back now.

optiblue 05-01-2013 10:19 AM

I've been getting really on/off data signals with wind lately.
