You guys think its worth it to switch? I'm on the mobilicity bts and I'm paying 26 taxes in. Is it worth the $3+ per month?
Posted via RS Mobile

Several of my friends have made the switch to Mobilicity from RoBelLus. And then made the switch to wind.

Totally worth it.

areyounoob 01-05-2013 03:09 PM

good god that $29/month plan is tempting..

optiblue 01-06-2013 10:47 AM

wind is better than mobilicity just because it auto reconnects to the network without restarting the phone. Doesn't hurt that the data is faster too!

I just got my S3 back from their warranty department. My notifations LED died after I updated to Jellybean. Sent my phone out and it took 3 weeks, but it's been repaired properly. Only complaint was that I had to pay $10 for a loaner phone and had to make a $80 repair deposit. $80 was refunded when they saw it was under warranty. Can't complain since the service is so cheap! And now I'm using the free Internet forward to email for voice mail so it's ultra complete!

Yup, it's in Mississauga/Toronto. I believe they send it to a third party company for repairs, unless it's manufacture warrantied. Turn-around time is about 4 weeks.

I'm a Wind user as of today...so far so good, Full bars at home. Wonder how the reception will be at work, anyone work/live around 120th and 64th area in surrey?

Cost of Monthly plan + Cost of sim (if you don't purchase a new phone with WIND).

Stuck roaming at work. I get 1 bar and only when I'm outside of the building. going to phone customer service on the weekend, any tips?

Coren 01-10-2013 08:40 AM

calling customer service is going to do nothing. you would probably also kill yourself trying to get them to understand what your problem is. don't waste your time.

satek 01-10-2013 04:21 PM

it's that bad eh?

Signed up with wind, spend most of my time in Vancouver, service is great by Langara College and at work by Main and terminal ave. Happy with them so far and my nexus4.

Well, no offense, but they probably won't set up a new cell tower just to give you better reception.

Curious though, what phone are you using? Shitty phones = shitty reception.

satek 01-10-2013 09:11 PM

Ya, I understand that. I'm on the edge of surrey/delta...hopefully they will expand into delta soon. I got a note 2 so shitty phone is not the problem :P

Well if you're in Delta then you are not suppose to be getting coverage yet. I don't think they will be able to help you out much except to tell you that they are expanding there.

i called into customer service once and didn't have any issue. in fact service was more courteous than rogers but i may have just gotten lucky.

You'll note I said 'shitty' and not 'cheap'. Nokias are renowned for their signal strength. It's been my experience, however, that HTCs aren't that great unless you're buying their flagships.

impulseX 01-14-2013 05:49 PM

just did a speed test.

south burnaby.
2-3 bars of signal on galaxy nexus on liquid smooth 4.2 rom
102 ping
5.36 mbps down
0.38 mbps up.

fastest i've seen on wind for my own speeds in a while (last time was around 4.5mbps)

edit : just did one more. same place
2 bars reception
109 ping
6.6 mbps down
0.71 mbps up

invader 01-14-2013 07:23 PM

I consistently have 1-2 bars but have no problem with making calls from my home in Surrey.

impulseX 01-18-2013 12:05 AM

holy shit. I'm blown away right now . In my room, so same test setting as my recent speed tests, 3 bars reception.

129ms ping
7.29 mbps down
1.36 mbps up.

Wind mobile Makes me one happy customer
