Damn I was just at the Staples in Lougheed. Didn't see it. Guess BestBuy should have it soon too.

There's a Staples at Lougheed Mall? Is it new? Or do you mean Lougheed Hwy near Madison Centre/Gilmore?

Sorry I meant on lougheed hwy where the Sushi Garden was. I was actually there hunting for another posted deal on RFD for 500gb drive but didn't see the Nexus 7 on display.

The Seagate HDD? Yeah, don't bother. No stores locally have any, unless you're willing to drive out to Westbank or Kelowna.

K-Dub 07-13-2012 02:44 PM

...well I hope google will at least refund the $20 shipping fee that they charged me when they finally decide to ship these out, don't want to deal with the hassle of cancelling...

customer service fail.

So now that the Nexus 7 is out...I'm wondering should I go with the 7 or pick up a 64gb Playbook for the same price?

Unless you really need the drive space to load movies on it to play it via HDMI to the TV I don't ANY reason to get the Playbook anymore. It's pretty much dead now......Nexus 7 will just eat it alive.

I bought the Playbook TWICE, just because I wanted to give it another chance after OS 2.0 update but still left disappointed.

Tim Budong 07-13-2012 04:47 PM

This tablet...haha I love it

Gh0stRider 07-13-2012 05:53 PM

The Playbook's release was premature, and not thought out. I do, however, love the QNX UI. Going back to IOS or Android seems like a step back, in terms of OS fluidity.

Tim Budong 07-13-2012 11:49 PM

how are you guys spending your $25
I thought about Chameleon as I was very intrigued by the format, but I dont know... reviewers seem to rave it on those 10in screens

jeffwilliams17 07-14-2012 09:58 AM

My pre order from the google play store hasnt shipped yet, i havent even seen a charge on my cc. And you guys already have them? Thats disappointing.

Visions and NCIX have them in stock apparently as well lol.

Anyone know of any nice cases that aren't fake leather leather? Something like the official google/asus one since they don't seem to have an ETA

StylinRed 07-14-2012 11:31 PM

London Drugs' have them too

http://mobilesyrup.com/2012/07/14/lo...oogle-nexus-7/

they've supposedly got 230 units spread across all their stores

roastpuff 07-15-2012 06:42 AM

I can confirm that. Some stores will get them Sunday, others should be Monday or Tuesday. ;-)

And yes 230 units in the first batch.

rabbitboy 07-15-2012 01:22 PM

i never used a tablet before, will i be able to stream movies, songs etc from my computer on this?
or do i have to upload the movie to cloud storage or something first?

Tim Budong 07-15-2012 02:43 PM

Future shop metro town has 9. Friend picked one up just now.

jlo mein 07-15-2012 04:02 PM

Is there anything already announced that will be released soon that is a quad core 7 inch tablet like the Nexus 7, except it will include a MicroSD slot?

I think I heard Acer has one soon? Haven't heard anything from any others though.

I'm really debating hard about a 7 inch tablet, and storage space for videos is extremely important after using 10 inch tablets with bigger storage (Transformer Prime).

Tim Budong 07-15-2012 05:35 PM

Buy otg cable and you can use flashdrives and such on this tab.

OTG is not supported unless someone hacked it in.

Edit. Looks like they have some workaround using an app called Stickmount.
