I wonder what the prices will be with a 3yr contract.

I am just guessing but when US launched 4S it was 199/299/399

where in Canada it was
16GB – $159
32GB – $269
64GB – $369

I would assume the same?

anyone see anything about the connection they using for "Lightning" ? Is it USB 3.0?

LOL good question! They sure moved away from that quickly didn't they?

On one hand, if it's thunderbolt, not many people have that type of connection.. but if it's just plain old USB2 or even USB3, then it's pretty silly to call it "lightning"... well to rational people at least. Apple fans will be eating that shit up (which is why I think it's brilliant either way)

bakasam 09-12-2012 10:29 AM

I wish the new nano was a single color front and back instead of the white faceplate

jackmeister 09-12-2012 10:31 AM

so is Samsung going to sue Apple now? lol

What you say is very true and I totally agree.

But in reality, it is human nature to look for the cheapest price for the best product. It is human nature to get their money's worth.

How would you feel if you paid $50k for a honda civic, when someone paid $50k for a acura tsx.

Yes it is, but in the end everyone has a different opinion on price/benefit.

To you it may be worth $100 only but to someone it maybe worth the price they are selling it as.

they are really blowing up how hard it is to make a decent earphone... Sony has been doing a pretty good job of it for decades!

SkinnyPupp 09-12-2012 10:38 AM

nano $150 holy fuck

i think they mean...it's hard to make a good set of headphones that they can mass produce and still make a killing

twitchyzero 09-12-2012 10:38 AM

oh god..the new nano reminds me of those iRiver korean mp3 players from the mid-2000's

the 6th gen nano is probably the best for portability/fitness...i understand the appeal of having a nice screen but at the end of the day..are you really gonna watch videos on a 2.5" screen?

Yup! That is true but i would assume they are looking at cost too I guess since it is shipped with the products rather buying a sony headphone will cost more money.

That's true. I had to buy the newest shuffle when I accidentally put my old one in the wash.. the old one was much better. Bigger, but it was easier to use since the controls weren't right at the edge, and the battery lasted twice as long.

Smaller isn't always better, in the case of the shuffle. In the case of the nano, we'll see.. maybe other people would find the lack of clip to be a no-sell too

facepalming

unit 09-12-2012 10:44 AM

dont want to harp too much on the memory pricing but why is it that the touch is only $50 for an extra 16GB and the iphone5 is an extra $100 for extra 16GB?

also, apple can market anything, even a stupid strap holder lol!

lol.. you'd expect those as a minimum improvement no? i mean nowadays.. most phone's successor is lighter, thinner with better battery, cpu, screen etc no? Iphone 4 was a huge upgrade on iphone 3gs but iphone 5? it's barely an upgrade over the iphone 4s.. only thing huge is they added LTE and scretched out the screen to make it bigger.. and the battery life is going to be better but you'd expect that since technology is evolving every day. i mean what new phones out there that releases nowadays doesn't have any of the above feature you mentioned improved on the previous model anyways? oh and changing the connector so they can force people to buy new accessories ain't exactly an improvement
