This is true to all phones nowadays... what more is there possibly to improve upon from what's available now?

Screen that doesn't crack or scratch easily (I dropped my ip4 3ft from the floor once and the whole screen shattered....what's the freaking point of having the "thinnest" phone if you have to use bulky case that add 50% to its thickness?)

Drag and drop file transfer w/o using itunes? Got a playbook last week and I was SOOOO happy that I could just drag and drop files on it like a usb stick/laptop.
everytime I tried to put some music/videos on my ip4 or ipad2, it feels like I have to jump through a few fire hoops to get it done

More memory/rams? so the webpage doesn't have to reload all the times when I have 5-6 tabs open

Other general improvement would be better speed, responsiveness & longer battery life...

Honest, I think most people buy the iphone because it is pretty and well-known...i doubt half of the iphone users even care about its tech spec or all those fancy features

if you want a "better" iphone 4s, then get the iphone 5.
nothing wrong with the iphone 5 at all. its the best iphone yet.

my only gripe is that apple no longer makes iphones "exciting" like they used to be.
these announcements just tend to be predictable and boring.
i think IOS needs a major overhaul like google did with ICS.

!MiKrofT 09-12-2012 02:57 PM

Too bad none of this really matters. Even if they simply added a sticker there's still gonna be hugeass lineups to get the phone. 4 to 4s was minor but was selling in record numbers. Oh well. Saving my HUP for the next Nexus.

Asking this question to consumers is kind of pointless. You're asking them to name features that already exist in current handsets, which would indicate a me too product. Most people expected to see something revolutionary, something they've never seen before.

mr_chin 09-12-2012 03:08 PM

iPhone 5 is nothing but hardware and cosmetic upgrade.
Faster CPU, thinner, lighter, upgraded front camera, bigger screen, better camera, better battery life.

Where are the iphone specific features?

Direct call by putting phone to your ear?
Watch video while browsing?
Mute when phone put face down?
All these are from S3... and it's not even all of them.

Apple reinvented multi-touch gestures and it seems to just faded in their plans. Everything the iphone 5 has, most of its competitor have but more and better.

MarkyMark 09-12-2012 03:20 PM

I think the worst part is that this is pretty much the biggest changes they will make in the next 2 years. Next year you'll get the 5S, so it'll be faster and maybe one or two exclusive Suri-like features.

Hondaracer 09-12-2012 03:21 PM

Yea I was kinda expecting some cool new feature..

Only hope now is that come out with some really cool/useful apps that utilize the processor

Guys I hear the iphone 5s will suck your dick. dont worry. huge upgrade man.

Presto 09-12-2012 03:43 PM

comparison vs other phones

Obsideon 09-12-2012 04:36 PM

I think the black on black iP5 looks pretty slick!
I'm using a 3Gs now so it's about time that I upgrade since it already feels so slow compared to a 4s. Everything lags on my phone now and the battery life is getting really bad, sometimes it's so slow I'm not sure if the phone froze or it's just loading.
Personally it's just that I'm "comfortable" with Apple products now and I'm simply too lazy to re-learn all the functions of another phone. I admit I am just a casual user. I would have stuck with my Motorola Razr if it didn't crap out on me. Then I was deciding between a 3Gs or a Berry.
Now that I've made the jump too Apple... I'm content. I don't care for those million and one extra features. I mainly use my phone to make calls, text, email and kill time on the toilet playing apps :fullofwin:

mr_chin 09-12-2012 04:58 PM

With the technology today, i wonder what apple, samsung, nokia, etc. can do if they made phones as thick and big as before.

Phew. Was hoping I wouldn't regret moving to the S3 from the 4S. Looks like I made the right choice.

The Nokia Lumia 920 looks so much more interesting than the iPhone 5.

fs604 09-12-2012 06:33 PM

don't like the change in the connector. brb old idocks and appliances that use 30pin wont work with the 5.

edit: unless u get the 30$ 30pin to 8pin converter? LOL.

A $3 knockoff will appear at the nightmarket. relax.

I do however think all charging units / USB cables should be compatible with one another. Less headaches, environmental waste, and stops companies from money gouging.

3klipze 09-12-2012 07:15 PM

I expected a new design. Every new generation of Iphone came with a new design, but this iphone 5 should be called Iphone 4S"X" or Iphone 4SS

edit: changing the the structural material of the back and phone from glass to full alum is not a new design.

That's what I was hoping for and why Apple didn't make the screen wider is beyond me.
