Wait, what? I called Fido and asked them about this. They said data plan is data plan. If I get a LTE phone and use a LTE sim card, my current plan (grandfathered $30 6GB) will get LTE speeds automatically.

I even called again and got the same answer. Oh well.

I just got off the phone with them, they stated the exact same thing to me. I wanted to talk to retentions but I was a bit late so they told me to call back in the morning.

As far as reservations go the lady told me they are unlimited, anyone can reserve at anytime and will get a phone. They also have a guarantee, if you don't receive your phone within 14days of your reservation or launch day(which ever is later) they credit you $50 on your account.

Cassijon can you please let me know what you meant by upgraded your 6gb plan to a LTE plan(sorry if its a noob question). I will be calling in the morning to try and negotiate a better deal/plan before reserving a phone and locking up with them.

Do you guys think it would better for me to negotiate my plan 1st and then reserve a phone? Or should I wait up reserve one early this morning and then give retentions a call tomorrow?

I actually think a lot of people will go for the ip5 in black this time around, I think it looks much nicer than the white one.

I think whether you get LTE speed or not depends if your device supports it.

There shouldn't be additional charge for LTE speed imo.

Whats the pricing of these unlocked from Apple? I'm not sure if I should try getting one there or off someone who's upgrading their plan, I don't think my plan is eligible for an upgrade yet

there's no more need to upgrade to a LTE plan. all plans with rogers and i'm going to assume fido is automatically LTE.

as far as i know, lte is a diff plan. but who knows with rogers/fido. all these fucking carriers never make any sense. i just switched it to be safe so i do get lte speeds when the time comes.

ps, i got the LTE shared plan, in case i decide to add a tablet too.

it's recently changed on rogers. all plans can do LTE even if your plan don't say LTE on it fyi. Fido because there's no LTE device yet iphone 5 being the first, so therefore there's not going to be a seperate LTE plan atm

On sidenote, just updated to iOS 6.

Nothing really that crazy.. but a few features here and there that definitely makes the experience a bit better. Updated maps with GPS for driving, quick replying calls with text, a DND mode, etc. Siri still sucks shit compared to what they have on Android JB.
