No need to push the power button to wake.

It is kernel specific but it seems to support all the big ones, stock, CM, Franco, Faux, etc

I gave up on those. There's always some sorta battery drain or wakelock or accidental unlock issue.

Know what, theres a bug in it that can render the touchscreen completely unresponsive until you reboot by holding the power button. This happened to me just minutes after my post. LOL

Probably not gonna use it again until they fix that.

Yup happened to me as I was trying to demonstrate it to my wife and I ended up having to restart my phone.

!MiKrofT 02-22-2013 10:16 PM

Lol. I just have it set so any button can wake the phone.

I read somewhere that it's an android feature to save battery. It switches to 3G when idle and H when data is being used

shenmecar 02-23-2013 11:01 PM

The phone should go into deep sleep. You probably have something installed that's keeping the phone awake. I'm on Xylon with Franco kernel and it deep sleeps fine.

I found in BetterBatteryStats that a kernel wakelock called "sns_perodic_wakelock" is draining my battery!

So I did a data wipe and left it without installing any apps and went to bed. This morning, it registered 8+ hours of deep sleep.

Now I need to figure out which app is keeping the phone awake.............

OKAY, I finally figured it out.

It wasn't a specific app that causes the wakelock. Its actually the connectivity to 3G or Wifi.

If I turn off 3G and Wifi, it deep sleeps without a problem.

Turns out its a shared problem with the LG Optimus G:
LG Nexus 4 and Optimus G killer bug - MacRumors Forums

Now I just gotta remember to turn off connectivity when I'm not using it

FerrariEnzo 02-25-2013 05:32 AM

then you wont receive any SMS, calls if theres an emergency

yogenfruz 02-25-2013 08:48 AM

^ I think he means turn off 3G/WiFi connectivity when not in use.

!MiKrofT 02-25-2013 11:57 AM

Well. There is the msm_hsic_host wakelock issue that plagues the Nexus 4. Upgrading to 4.2.2 will fix most of it but not get rid of it entirely.

my phone actually idles in 4.2.2. whereas in 4.2.1 it never really did.

hongy 02-25-2013 12:08 PM

Yeah, so the first time in all the devices I own/used that is on 4.2+.... I am having the screen wake problem on a custom rom device.

My gnex running xylon got rid of this issue, my wife's stock nexus 4 doesn't have this problem at all, and my previous nexus 4 running xylon had no problem either.

Now my new nexus 4 running xylon is constantly turning the screen on by itself.

Wtf.

Wtf.

Interesting, this happened to my gf's S2 on ICS before. I did a full wipe and reflash and it fixed the issue.

FerrariEnzo 02-26-2013 10:12 AM

Anyone else having this problem with their N4..

Sometimes folders/files are not showing up when connected to the computer?
