immediately tried to cancel the order within 5-6 hours (this was during the weekend) but google told me it was too late.

now i'm given the option to "refuse delivery", by posting a note on my door saying im refusing it and the shipper would return to the sender?

has anyone dealt with that process before? i'll be at work during the scheduled day of delivery and i dont know... if i was the UPS guy i will just pocket the package and say " i never saw any gay note on their door "

worried :(

If you refuse shipment, just let google know and MAKE SURE they refund the money to you

yah thanks for the heads up. i just sent google an email telling them ahead of time i am refusing delivery for my purchase

i also outlined how i am worried that the UPS guy will screw me over by denying anything about a refusal of delivery

its noticeable that the battery percentage drops when in idle but i always leave my 3G on. these are my battery stats of the past two days. im on the roms kernel and havent flashed franco in yet!

Is this different from the regular aokp rom? I'm looking to change things up and probably gonna flash either cm, aokp, or pa. Moving away from Xylon as it's getting too messy with the maintainers and how the dev seems only interested in adding new features.

hongy 04-15-2013 10:00 PM

Insomniac, Does mysterious aokp have PIE?

!MiKrofT 04-15-2013 11:10 PM

Ahh I see that mysterious aokp is compiled with different compiler optimizations. Someone posted that its not much difference overall. Hmmm

Tim Budong 04-15-2013 11:59 PM

Xylon is garbage. As said above, they focus too much on the bullshit features. However, I'm still running an older version which is decent.

insomniac 04-17-2013 10:37 AM

Hey Hongy yeah it does have pie! I think mysterious is like a slimmed down version of xylon. Feels almost the same but I definitely have better battery gains. Standby time is eh cause if you want the phone to last the whole day you'll only get 3 hours of usage. I'm at 3 hours of screentime with 30% left but 12 hours standby. Keep in mind 3g has been on the whole time. The standby on the ROM kills the battery lol but its still doing very good

My bad I don't think it has pie cause I changed quite a but of ROMs lol I probably thought that it had pie because I was using PAC before

AOKP Milestone 1 released today. I think I'll flash that.

Drow 04-17-2013 04:33 PM

i got my n4 yesterday :3

solid phone overall... looks and feels so much better than my s3

i have found battery life not as great as my s3, but no doubt it will get me throughout the day.

since battery life is okay, what benefits do i have in flashing custom roms?

btw does anyone have issues with the sound output through aux cables rather... quiet?

Simplex123 04-17-2013 04:51 PM

If volume is an issue for you, rooting will let you fix that. You are also able to use more apps that need root access ie. titanium backup/solid browser.
Custom ROMs will give you more customization with the look and feel of your notification/navigation bars, quick settings, lock screen, and with a flashed kernel (usually included in ROMs) you can OC/UV change governors to boost performance/save battery.

hongy 04-17-2013 05:49 PM

Delt with google warranty today, surprisingly very easy.

glad you picked one up! it totally does feel a lot better. both hardware and software. flashing roms will give you better performance and battery life depending what rom you flash. roms gives you much more usability and customization. color of the led when you get a notification, interface, menus and navigation bars, toggles etc

gee thats awesome

i find myself customizing the n4 so its similar to how my s3 was (i hate change)

for example i detest how the stock n4 has like 5 home screens, with no way of deleting them unless you use nova launcher

i feel i should stick to stock n4 for now and get to know it well first before i jump to custom roms and the such

edit: my eyes have been glued to the n4 xda subforum, hopefully scout out some goodies :woot2:

insomniac 04-17-2013 08:00 PM

imo you should just jump straight to roms haha. youll still have the same phone but better :) i had the same mentality before and regretted not flashing earlier

!Nhan 04-17-2013 08:03 PM

if you're using an android and it hasn't been rooted and runing custom roms, you should just use an iphone

hay nothing wrong with iphone :/ but i freaking hate the people that go like android > iphone but dont know what rooting is lmao
such a pet peeve when someone says this phone is better than the other without owning the other

bobola 04-17-2013 09:18 PM

++ 1 for aokp...

very close to stock with customization !

Anyone have a link to radios? I updated to the April 16th version of PA and ever since (even after reverting to Mar 28, and also after doing a factory reset -> reinstall to Mar28; only restored user apps, not system apps) I've had this annoying Wifi issue. When I'm connected to wifi, and leave my phone alone for awhile (let's say 10 minutes) the wifi seems to...not connect. I mean, it still shows as being connected to the network, but no data will pass. I have to turn the wifi off and then back on again to get connectivity.

It doesn't happen with cell data, and as long as I keep the phone awake and using data there's no problem. It's kind of getting frustrating 'cause I don't get notifications, and every time I put down my phone and pick it up again I've got to turn the wifi off and on.

I'm thinking (hoping?) it's a radio issue, but it's kind of driving me nuts.

which AOKP rom you guys recommend?

I personally flashed this one to update to the .48 radio, cuz it has bootloader too:

Official, they're stable and you don't have to flash a new one every couple of days (like with the nightly unofficial builds)

the latest official is Milestone 1, find it at aokp.co

way2quik 04-28-2013 05:29 PM

Going to give AOKP Milestone 1 a try.
The one reason I flashed back to PA was with AOKP build 6, my bt headset would hiss everytime audio transmits. I did not have that problem with PA + franco.
