As for trading things for 3060s non ti (wait is it non ti? There are 3060s and there are 3060 ti's) dont do it, if its the non ti, not in your circumstance anyway, as mining with them is more complicated

Was thinking of trading for 3060ti's...

As for my extra one, I don't have enough cables :( I was thinking of selling the 3070's and just going 3060's and pocket the extra cash lol

StylinRed 03-25-2021 06:42 PM

Ah yeah that'd work, if I were you I'd just get a new power supply and swap that into your tower lol

I bought a tripplite pdu last night from Mike's, decided I needed a couple more, they're all soldout today I think they had like 10+ units at the BC warehouse yesterday, omg

I was thinking about that... my tower is a bit older, I don't think there are any GPU slots either...

Noob question: Do you think this is even worth to run? What is the best break-even or tipping point at which you don't run a card?

StylinRed 03-30-2021 08:35 PM

Those old cars are passed their end of life for things like eth, ppl are just finding ways to keep em alive, imo you wouldn't be buying those, just trying to eke out as much time as you can from the ones you already own

No, not really.

Board designed for 3060's https://i.redd.it/b7s17bh0daq61.jpg

StylinRed 03-31-2021 03:06 AM

I saw that on alibaba edit: can't seem to find it, maybe I was thinking of something else

I was tempted, was tempted to buy a used X99 board n cpu too

But I managed to split my 3060s across my rigs, just waiting on the ribbon risers (putting 2 to each mb)

StylinRed 03-31-2021 11:40 AM

Question, if I have 2 pcie lanes going at 8X and the cpu only has 16lanes, that means I can't run anymore pcie slots right? Even 1X pcie

Trying to figure out why I can't run more than 2 3060s without the mh throttling, like I've got 2 on eth, and the others on conflux

I'm guessing that's the reason why, since they worked with just the two cards and no others connected

Razor Ramon HG 03-31-2021 04:46 PM

MSI just sent me an email that they shipped my RMA.

They received it on the 15th at their service depot in Richmond.

Not too bad, two week turnaround.

StylinRed 03-31-2021 08:40 PM

Wow that's great! pretty surprising! Also didn't know they were in Richmond that's cool

Bought 8 of these 2 gig cards to start mining a new coin called prncn. It's the first mine-able NFT. Each coin you mine has an embedded adult photo or video clip.

A colorized version of a up skirt picture Margaret Trudeau where she is wearing no panties just sold for $26000. There is also a coin featuring a video clip from basic instinct where kim basinger shows her yoohoo that has not been mined yet.

The interesting part about mining prncn is it can be only mined on cards that have 2.5 gigs or less of memory. Because this coin is so new there are zero mining pools. I should be able to mine 13 coins a day with this rig. Already thinking of setting up a second one.

StylinRed 03-31-2021 11:35 PM

Lmao that sounds hilarious and kinda cool

I've got several old gpus maybe they can be put to some use then?

Edit just realized this is probably a joke too eh lmao

Side note bought a pdu off Mike's, they were in stock, and proceeding with shipment, then someone bought the remainder of all their stock, now they've switched my order to backorder wtf...

Anyone mine Monero?

I've got two almost exact towers (different motherboards) mining monero and one of them is getting almost 2X the hashrate and I've no idea why

Anyone using HP server power supply and breakout boards? Are they as loud as people claim?
Also any source for these other than parallel miner?

ime2006 04-03-2021 09:43 AM

More RTX 3060

going on to this Babe!!!

waiting to test it.

Which asrock mobo u got ? and CPU ?

I also were looking at this Video

StylinRed 04-03-2021 06:25 PM

Ohhh I missed that one of his, I likely would've gone with a different motherboard if I did, damn it lol
Oh wait I seen that one n commented! Wth why did I get what I did then lmao

I have a zotac trinity 3080 white

It was mining at 110°c with the fan at 100% and the mh just kept dropping...

So I uninstalled it and waited until my thermal pad replacement setup was ready

Today I replaced the pads, I opened up the gpu, and there was a missing pad for one of the memory chips!

Also on another memory chip the pad was only aligned to 3/4 of the chip!

The thermal paste on the processor was paper thin, looked like a thin milky layer, as if the processor was poorly cleaned and had paste residue...

The backplate had pads everywhere, none missing

The pads on the front are 2.5mm but I only have 0.5mm ,1mm ,2mm or 3mm, I didn't want to stack pads, so I risked it and put 3mm's on
(the pads on the backplate are 2mm BTW)

After plugging the zotac back in, I gave it a slightly higher overclock +1300mem (instead of 1200) fans at 80% and the memory junction is at 78°c

However I think the 3mm pads r too thick, so the processor is running at 58.5°c

So I put the fan at 90%, it dropped the processor to 53°c/54°c and the memory junction is down to 74°c

Edit: I used the thermaltight 12.8wmk 3mm pads btw

When you have a 3060ti sitting next to you with no PSU until April 12 :QQ:

ime2006 04-06-2021 12:33 PM

what are you guys going to do with 25-30c every day in summer ?

I am planning to get two portable ACs for my tiny mining farm.

StylinRed 04-06-2021 03:15 PM

From what I've been reading, you don't need an AC u just need airflow, or a grow tent

But I've got central air so I'm not too concerned, just going to setup a vent
