The CSR immediately offered an internet only Pure Fibre 150 plan for 12 months for $51.74 tax in. I am saving about$47 per month vs my previous unlimited plan. Data cap is 1024 GB per month. |

I recently just scored Fibre 50 Basic TV + Sports + Chinese channels Land line All for $81 tax inc. |
Signed up with a student discount at Shaw. Internet 150 - 50 Medium TV - 30 Cantonese Pack - 10 Got an additional $10 off for 10 months. $90 after tax. Telus is doing fiber in my area now, so I might jump ship if they got a good deal somewhere. Too bad Telus' hotspots are nowhere as good as ShawOpen. |
LOL Looks like Dazn is taking some heavy hits DAZN, the NFL?s new streaming-TV partner, leaving some Canadian fans frazzled | National Post Simmons: DAZN a disaster during NFL opener | SIMMONS | Football | Sports | Toron Problems at Dazn | Canadian Outages with how bad Dazn is running now I doubt other sports will want to go steaming only or even consider it for a long time... |

Renewed my Telus contract for 2 years. Internet 100 (don't have 150 in my area) Basic TV + 6 packages + Chinese channel $60 before taxes for 12 months. (Originally I was aiming for the 2 year contract + New TV Gift), but I received a 'Free' laptop the previous 2 years ago, and that I don't qualify for that promotion anymore :( |
https://i.imgur.com/SongIoC.png https://i.imgur.com/giTncxE.png These are only send to certain places (IE apartments only) Not sure if you can call them and ask for this promo... |
seems like new customers have little bargaining room with the big companies. Got offered whatever bundles are online and unwilling to price match or give further discounts for signing up. Anyone have suggestions to work around this? |

Alright. so i was trying to cut the cord and live on Netflix and SporsNet NOW. i called shaw saying i wanted to cancel my cable services and wanted to apply for INTERNET 150. she asked me "why do i wanna cancel?" i said "TOO EXPENSIVE. i only wanna pay 100 a month" she put me on hold. came back with this offer: internet 150 cable with 5 theme packs $100 plus 12% tax. $112. im more than happy i was paying: internet 75 Cable with 4 Theme packs for $150 taxes in |
We're you already under a contract and wanted to cancel? Got about 10 months left of my 2 year.. looking for better plans or cancel just cable. Quote:

cause im sure 10 months ago i signed up for my old plan. doesnt hurt to call in and ask. i told em i wanted to cancel and they transfered me over to retention's. perhaps pretend you didnt know you were on contract and see what happens. haha what do you got to lose? good Luck oh i forgot to mention. on my old plan i was renting 3 Cable Receivers for 25 a month. YIKES! she threw in 2 "newer gateway" receivers for free with my new plan |
What’s the penalty to cancel contracts? |
I switched from Shaw to Telus fiber recently, I had a full year left on my Shaw contract, was $250 to buy it out, Telus gave me a $50 credit towards that, plus $100 off first bill plus the free TV (which I would have way rather taken the current promo of the visa GC but oh well) The fiber is pretty killer, never had a problem with my Shaw 150 however the fiber is noticeably faster and picture seems better (compared to the older gateway system at least) |

I've been Shaw/Telus free for a few years now. Been bumming off my neighbour for $30 a month for a while now. Unfortunetely were both moving haha. I'd like to try something new, TekSavvy looks like a good option. We only search the internet and probably watch a maximum of 7 hours of netflix a week. |
I was on Teksavvy paying $50 for internet 30 with unlimited data but recently switched to Lightspeed because it’s cheaper. Now I’m paying $40 for internet 75 with unlimited data. When you sign up with Teksavvy, there’s a bigger initial start up cost compared to Lightspeed. Teksavvy is based out of Ontario and customer service is very good. Lightspeed is based out of Burnaby and customer service is not the best. |
Lightspeed is still around eh fuck lol..remember my grandparents used lightspeed for their dial up service back in the day I work in the industry but honestly dont know how anyone deals with anything less than 75 MBPS down.. HD youtube vids burn up 15-18mbps alone, then you get into 4K content where you're pushing 22+ |

As for Shaw contracts, I remember asking them specifically when I signed my contract and you should be able to change services within your plan without incurring a penalty (but you can't cancel obviously). With that said, since they've got you locked in, there's really no incentive to give you any promotional offers so the best you could do is switch to a lower priced service if you just want to save a few $$ off your monthly bill. Certainly doesn't hurt to ask and see what they can offer though. |
paying internet 25, unlimited bandwidth, optik tv basic with sports them package and worldview chinese package, and home phone for $55+taxes per month for first year and then $75+taxes for the second year. it seems ppl at the end of 2017 got better deals with internet 100 or the fibre optic option. |
shaw 2yr value plan 1x blue sky boxes 1x modem internet 75 limited tv with 4 theme packs $92 per month taxes in. |
I see Shaw is laying off 6000+ employees. Might be a good time to try to grab a deal. |
