A while back, got the following loyalty discount on a two year service agreement from TELUS.

- Pure Fibre Optik Internet 150
- Essentials
- Two theme packs
- TMN, HBO, Crave

All in for $47.74

The discounts are for 12 months, so i will need to call back halfway through the service agreement to renew my deal.

I’m assuming you live in a high rise?

Edison_Chen 02-03-2018 11:59 AM

Damn I need to call Shaw too.

I pay $174.xx for standard high speed Internet + Chinese channels + some basic HD and basic home phone....

I feel like raped every month. It used to be around $130ish and since us gone up. I’m not on a contract.

Yes! Call em! Say you wanna cancel your cable and apply for Internet 150 cause cable too damn expensive. They will put you on hold then should come back with a nice offer.

I posted this a few post back. They offered me

Internet 150 plus 5 themes pack for 100 a month over 2 years. Internet 150 alone was 100 already.

Once my contract is up. I think I'll just keep the internet.
Streaming is way better. Just gotta teach my parents how to use it.

if anyone's looking to switch over from their current provider to Telus, hit me up, i may be able to get ya a bit better than whats advertised online and you wont have to wait on hold with phone support etc.

Pretty much all of Vancouver and most of Surrey is on fibre now so you can get symetrical 150 up/150 down, while i never had a problem with Shaw 150, the fibre is obviously a superior technology.

How old is your contract?

On the new 2 year agreements the price should be the same throughout

KingVR4 08-21-2018 02:24 PM

Not a current deal but earlier this year
I got internet 150 with free modem rental and 2 cable boxes with 150 channels? For $109 taxes in.

I called in saying I dont need cable anymore just fast internet. Lady put me on hold and came back with that deal. Internet 150 alone is 90 bucks so I only pay 10 more for the cable

jnesss 08-21-2018 03:50 PM

relateively happy with my shaw tripleplay promo. when it’s about to expire, i just ask nicely for an extension and they’re usually ok to accomodate my request.

KingVR4 08-21-2018 04:41 PM

My 2 year contract started nov 2017

[Telus] AB/BC Telus Fibre 300/300 $55 for6month - RedFlagDeals.com Forums

Check on RFD. I believe Shaw is also matching the offer for a year. Some people have gotten the deal for 2 years.

Hondaracer 08-21-2018 05:19 PM

Murdoc is in mission so probably doesnt have Fibre yet.

just an FYI for anyone re-upping on a contract, there really is no "rental" fee for modem or the first 2 STB's anymore, both providers give the first 2 boxes for free, sometimes you can squeeze a 3rd out for free but it's not typical.

Again if anyone is switching and considering Telus hit me up and i might be able to squeeze another 20-50 off the best offer

striderblade 08-22-2018 10:14 PM

Damn no Telus fiber in my area. Best they can do in my area Telus 15? Wtf.

Ch28 08-22-2018 10:31 PM

Another thing to note is that Shaw had a booth at PNE last year that had pretty good plans being offered. We ended up taking their offer and mentioning it to Telus retentions and they matched the internet and threw in basic cable for free. My gf likes having basic cable so she can have that on at times.

Hondaracer 09-11-2018 08:39 AM

There hasnt been much luck with saving people money switching to Telus from Shaw recently, however there is a deal ongoing right now that you may be able to save some dough as a student:

"post-secondary students with a valid student ID are eligible for promotional pricing on TELUS Internet for 8 months, with the first month free. No term contract is required. This offer is also stackable with the Pik TV add-on"

Eligible for both fiber and copper services. Internet 25 would probably be about $35 a month on this deal

Hit me up if interested and i could refer you, as i dont think these deals are available online yet

actually I do have Telus fibre in my area... Just because I live in Mission doesn't mean I don't have the good stuff lol

Hondaracer 09-11-2018 09:50 AM

Are you sure? As far as I know Telus hasn’t even started the build there.

Tegra_Devil 09-11-2018 06:08 PM

I have Telus fibre 250 in kamloops. Any good deals if I get tv?
