Kane reportedly skipped out on one of the 1040 guys' recent charity golf tournaments because he would rather spend the extra 3 days training. And reports are he is training on local ice. Believe what you will/want. Not to say he hasn't been seen around the bars though Personally I feel like Kane can get his act together. Ppl say him being close to his parents and family will give him accountability and help ground him, which I call BS on. When you're in your mid-20's, rich, talented, the last people you want on your tail is your parents. Maybe I'm in the minority, but I'd absolutely trade Tanev for Kane straight up. Upside on Kane is huge if he can get his act together, the type of guy you can potentially build a team around and not to mention how marketable he would be here. If he can stay straight, he'd be a perfect mentor for Virt and the young up and coming punks in the future, 'been there done that'. For Tanev, yeah he's solid and important to our back end. But last I checked our biggest issue is scoring goals, and we have a pretty bright outlook in the crease who's job it is to keep the puck out of the net. If Kane ends up like Kassian here, you could argue that Tanev was just being wasted here anyways as our team still sucks with him, and just a bit more without him. Our defense is workable without Tanev, not deep, but definitely serviceable. It would be ideal if we could trade Edler away, but reality is he's worth less on the trade market, and the NTC limits what Lindening can do. Plus Hondaracer's report that Linden is in love with Edler too. |
^ moj ran the event, and said kane was skipping due to his legal problems and how its made him busier this offseason. moj also said he had no problem with it because unlike others kane has come to it every year |
Kane YES but not at the cost of Tanev. At first I would say Sbisa but at the very most it would be the 2nd rounder |
^lol, another 2nd rounder? We're never going to pick in the 2nd round until 2020. |
Say what you want but I would do Kane for Tanev in a heartbeat.. I do think Kane playing here being around family will help him straighten out and he won't be able to hit up the bars here like in the states since the media will be all over him and really suck compared to Atlanta and even Buffalo (Cant compare Winnipeg to us of course) It would really suck giving up Tanev but our D has been looking a whole lot better and I think we can afford to let him go adding such a valuable piece like kane to our lineup. |
:rukidding: Buffalo would never take Tanev for Kane. |

For me, it would have to be Tanev for Kane plus a high level prospect or higher round draft pick. |
Apparently we're in the mix for Sam Gagner. |
Fuck why? Buddy has made a career off Dave Gagner being his dad and one magical 8 point game. |
