When your goalies suck, and your team can't score..........

who do you play?

Slumpbusters!!

When half your team is sick with the flu, and the other half is injured...........

who do you play?

Slumpbusters!!

It's the Canucks' nickname. Been for a long time.

"Man, our team has lost 6 games in a row........."
"Don't sweat it, dude. We're playing the Canucks tomorrow."

Hondaracer 03-10-2020 08:43 PM

NHL season likely over?

Jmac 03-11-2020 08:08 PM

NHL to make an announcement tomorrow apparently, seems like they’re going to suspend/cancel the season.

MG1 03-11-2020 08:23 PM

See, if it isn't one thing, it's another. Canuck luck. Not that they were going to make the playoffs.

Would have been better if they cancelled the season when the Canucks were in first place. Hee hee, hue hue, pew pew...........

sonick 03-11-2020 08:26 PM

If anything this helps the Canucks if it allows the team to get healthy if/when they return.

bobbinka 03-11-2020 08:27 PM

if they suspend the season, could give injured players time to recover

Ludepower 03-11-2020 08:27 PM

Season should be cancelled in lock step with the NBA while the pandemic passes.

spoon.ek9 03-11-2020 09:17 PM

maybe we'll get summer playoffs :fuckyea:

although terrible ice quality :okay:

whitev70r 03-11-2020 09:37 PM

Is playing in empty arenas and broadcasting game a possibility? First test every player and make sure no infected players are on ice. One of the factors for NBA suspending season is because of the clown player that made fun of it, touched all the mics, and karma bit him in the ass. Probably infected the whole Raptors team.

I don't know how much testing has evolved, but earlier on it was very common for someone to test negative, only to test positive again later.

Why even take that risk? Your flying city to city and one personel can take a whole team down.

How would the rest of the league proceed with such a black cloud over their heads.

All of the other teams will get healthy too...

belka 03-12-2020 07:45 AM

While athletes testing positive is a concern, somehow I doubt they are at any risk of death. If anything I want to see what this virus does to a healthy, fit middle aged man. If a single professional athlete dies due to the virus we are all fucked.

Mr.HappySilp 03-12-2020 07:52 AM

NHL canceling all practice today and holding a meeting. Maybe they will suspend the season...

The overall trend is that younger people don't get it as badly as older people

However, that's just a trend. There are plenty of young, healthy, non smokers who are on ventilators. Some will die from pneumonia. These are the ones that are getting priority healthcare.

You do NOT want to risk getting this just because the chance is lower that you'll die from it. It's never 0%

That's why the NBA canceled, that's why other leagues will (or should) as well. Obviously the first option was to just go in empty arenas, but the players themselves are the ones at risk, especially being in close contact with each other.

Nothing officially confirmed yet, from LeBrun on his twitter, but it seems to be inevitable

April 8th is extremely optimistic lol

Hondaracer 03-12-2020 08:18 AM

That’s going to be fucking weird if they just start the playoffs lol..Nucks are in though

Tanev is out with lower body injury. Season suspension gives him more time to heal.

I liked the joke that someone made.
Let GMJB announce the league will shut down for 8 weeks and resume in 4.
