wth i don't understand what the argument is here on Revscense. If u want to take precautions, stay at home then do it. or go all out and attend a concert. there is no point in trying to convince others to do the same, one or the other u r losing. just don't be ignorant with what's happening and don't hoard tp and other stuff. u want to go to a cruise, then do it. whatever happens, happens. u know what risk u r talking already. |

The problem with this mindset is that it is contagious. If you don't care about yourself, whatever, but dragging others into it is a whole different story. That's why people are recommending to take precautions. |

https://www.scmp.com/news/hong-kong/...l-restrictions Anyone arriving in Hong Kong from Italy, as well as parts of France, Germany, Japan and Spain will be placed on a mandatory quarantine in government facilities for 14 days starting Friday midnight to contain the coronavirus epidemic. (these are added to the list including China and Korea) Is Canada doing anything like this? You better pay attention to the places that have recently dealt with epidemics. |

A. You are not a healthcare professional B. You haven't backed any of your arguments with facts or data C. You have zero training in medical literature or data evaluation D. You have zero hands-on experience managing real-life patients with acute respiratory distress or pneumonia But since I'm spreading dangerous information, you're welcome to quote them to the college of pharmacists in BC and my licensing body in Hong Kong. I'll PM you my license number if that's what you would like to do. It's easy to become a "disease expert" through the interwebs and wikipedia when you have zero professional liability. But hey, what does the CDC know that skinnypupp doesn't know. All those fancy degrees are no match for skinnypupp. Why would their opinion be any more valid than Mr. WebMD :lol |
Chinese govt now referring to the virus as "Italian Virus", their diplomats to ask countries to thank them (and Xi in particular) for making a sacrifice to save the world, and are telling their people that Xi has defeated the virus in China. https://bitterwinter.org/de-sinicizi...iting-history/ Cartoon villains |

Arguing with Skinnypupp is like arguing with an ignorant anti-vaxxer. I will just spend time posting more relevant information from other medical professionals. https://www.cbc.ca/radio/thecurrent/...ears-1.5492144 The previous infectious disease specialist had a more in-depth interview. Some of the more important snippets "Sharkawy said he wasn't trying to trivialize the virus in any way, but that "we have to recognize that 80 per cent or more of people that are afflicted by this are not going to be very sick, they're not likely to to die." "If it can be a message where we can develop a very good sense of hand hygiene and break the chain of transmission, we'll protect that vulnerable segment of 20 per cent that will be more likely to succumb to this infection and its complications," he said. He said his advice is to "live your life." A different doctor put out some newer statistics: "More than 80 per cent of COVID-19 infections are estimated to be mild, meaning symptoms are manageable and not life-threatening, compared with 15 per cent that are severe and five per cent that are critical and require ventilation. The percentage of people who die from the illness is currently estimated at upwards of 3.4 per cent, according to the World Health Organization, which is significantly higher than the seasonal flu at less than one per cent. In patients aged 70 to 79, that fatality rate increases to eight per cent, and for those above 80 years old, it rises to almost 15 per cent. " Source: https://www.cbc.ca/news/health/coron...eath-1.5491907 From the same article "Canadians need to understand that the vast majority of us are going to manage well if infected with the illness, with most not even requiring hospitalization, says infectious disease physician Dr. Isaac Bogoch at Toronto General Hospital. "We know this COVID-19 infection can disproportionately make individuals who are elderly and individuals with chronic medical conditions more sick, but we also know that almost any infection or condition can make that population more ill as well," he said. |
