Good question.

Forgot which country, but last thing you want is to board a plan and they say.. "it's not just the passport but country of contact / record of entering / livingin a city (eg// HK) within the last 14 days"

Sucks if the entire plane gets diverted cause of 1 person.

So I have canceled the trip. Surprisingly the non refundable hotel was refunded, thanks to Expedia's help. But United wouldn't budge on refunding the flights, they only offered a credit that expires in November, with $120 reprocessing fee.

Note the wording on this tweet:

While discovering the origin is helpful, this does look like cover-up.

Pretty unnecessary IMO. If they really want to cover it up, they should just divert the attention rather than being more attention to the matter.

Twitter comments give me brain cancer, though. Comments from both sides are equally cancerous to me. Guess that's why I don't use Twitter.

First community outbreak:

This is exactly the result I was expecting as our federal Health Minister and the federal gov continue to refuse stricter border controls. FailFish

From this point onwards, if any Canadian dies from the coronavirus, Patty Hajdu has blood on her hands. FailFish

That famous picture from Costco in "Richmond? Or Toronto?" was written about here.

What's interesting is how people "making fun" of all the panic are actually contributing to it.

Personally I don't think anyone is really panicking, they're just getting prepared which is a good thing.

8% (23 out of 290) of Iran's parliament has the coronavirus. Seems like a very high % on a very select group of individuals...

Yep, frequent contact with the same group of people (of which some are infected) will do that with an infectious virus. No shenanigans here.

Source for that? Because the source I posted said China visitors restricted, but HK and Macau policy affects their passports only

I dropped off my uncle and aunt at YVR last week and during the time we checked in, all they asked was if they been to Wuhan or south Korea. Nothing else. After saying no, because they flew from Hongkong. They were both able to proceed with their flight. Pretty simple.

G 03-05-2020 08:49 PM

Drove down to Blaine through Peace Arch and they asked the usual questions then he paused and followed everything up with "when was the last time you went back to China?".

lol, startled me, not sure if racist?

StylinRed 03-05-2020 09:03 PM

The us Canada is grossly unprepared, worse in the us. How we don’t have situations worse than Korea or Italy, Iran, is baffling

Also, found out my moms friend was in Wuhan, and rushed back to Taiwan, and then Vancouver, because she feared borders may close (before wuhan) went on lockdown. She flew to Taiwan first, because she was afraid she’d be asked if she was in wuhan... :heckno::rukidding:

It’s been over a month though, so guess she’s in the clear, but wow, this honour system of Canada’s is so naive, and irresponsible
