so with the win, we are 8 points and 4 games behind Montreal and our next 4 games are against Ottawa.... there's actually a chance, lol

eclipseman 04-20-2021 07:43 PM

Maybe, just maybe, we can make a run for it...

SkinnyPupp 04-20-2021 07:53 PM

Canucks fans getting their hopes up. Love to see it

Hondaracer 04-20-2021 07:56 PM

Both were pretty good games surprisingly

The team was a bit fortunate tonight with Rittich playing poorly. He let in some weak sauce goals.

Five goals in twenty eight shots. LUL

Those goals were horrendous. Not even from poor positioning or slow reaction, but just lazy technique. On Hoglander's goal, looked liked he just dropped the knees instead of squeezing the thighs. No NHL goalie should be beaten 5 hole when already in a butterfly like that.

Pearson's sharp angle goal was just lazy goaltending, going into RVH so early instead of staying on his feet.

So, plan the parade?

spoon.ek9 04-20-2021 09:08 PM

holy shit we won again! it was a hard fought victory too

SkinnyPupp 04-20-2021 11:51 PM

Of course the Canucks get their 69th victory over the Maple Leafs on 4/20 KEKW

There's no way they were losing this game

I had to do a double take on those 2 goals. Agreed, there should be no way an NHL goal lets in those goals. I think it says a lot about the goalie coach in CGY.
Poor Marky, give him some time and he might be playing the same way too.

Cory Hirsch and a few others were very hard on Rittich calling him swiss cheese and a few other names.
Oh the irony on that one. LOL

68style 04-21-2021 09:33 AM

Just the universe evening out, Rittich owned our asses last year

I’m more worried about guys like Pearson or Virtanen (yes I know he didn’t score in this game) feeling like “Yah! See it does work when I take open unscreened shots from the wing” instead of holding and looking for a real play

Hondaracer 04-21-2021 09:42 AM

That’s what players like Pearson and Virtanen are known for though these kinda gravy bang in or fluke goals and then they ride out the next 8-10 games on that high until they get another one :/

At least Pearson has a somewhat consistent effort level

Come on, if you’ve been following the Canucks for the past few years, this should not surprise you! :troll:

Pretty sure that BuckFoston guy was the one who had said Petey and Boes unfollowed Gaudette on social media when he was traded. I think he’s a troll.

murd0c 04-23-2021 10:20 AM

he's not a troll, he has legit info. I talk to him on Twitter fairly often.

I was just going over lineups on DailyFaceoff today and came across something that made me so sad............ seeing Gustav Forsling on Florida's top pairing with Weegar... we gave that guy away for fucking Clendenning.

I read an article that said Benning doesn't regret it because they believed in Clendenning at the time and he qualified his feelings by saying that we had Stetcher coming up and he would be good too.

Except that we let Stetcher go also for nothing this past off-season... and wouldn't it have been better to have BOTH Forsling and Stetcher at the same time?? lol

I can see why people are flying banners behind planes.............

If it makes you feel better, Chicago and Carolina gave up on him too
