Legit the leak made me lose all interest in it.

Too bad because otherwise I would have made a point to watch it on TV

Teriyaki 07-21-2021 08:43 PM

I'm more interested in the trades that are going to go down. Surely there were some back-room deals that'll show themselves. I want to see some 5D chess being played!!

So what happens now that we are stuck with Holtby for another year? I thought for sure they were taking him to mentor the other goalies.

Well since Seattle didnt take him, hopefully someone else wants his services. Hard to believe but apparently there was alot of interest in him.

Kilinim 07-22-2021 05:28 AM

Kraken roster looks a bit weak tbh

whitev70r 07-22-2021 07:20 AM

^ that's what I thought about Vegas after the expansion draft. I think these players must play out of their minds cuz they have chips on their shoulders ... you left ME unprotected ... I'll show you!

Frankly, Seattle is not a bad city to relocate to.

murd0c 07-22-2021 07:38 AM

10am pst is when trades are allowed again, with a Benning press conference at 11 he had to of made a move with Seattle. Maybe we are getting Larson from them?

The Official 2021/2022 Canucks & NHL Thread

According to Bergevin, Weber is probably not playing again.

https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article...bly-wont-play/

Marc Bergevin says Shea Weber has several injuries (ankle, foot, knee, thumb). "Even missing a practice for him wasn't an option. He has a lot of mileage...He won't be back next season, and probably won't be back for his career."

Maybe the Habs can keep him on injured reserve for next season until the playoffs start again. LUL

If he does retire that's going to be a crazy recapture penalty for Nashville lol. 4.9 million until 2025-2026.

Watch Bettman waive the recapture for Nashville if that happens :rukidding:

Ken Holland doesn't believe in the salary cap.

Neither does Julien BriseBois :troll:

6thGear. 07-22-2021 01:57 PM

Flyers trade Shayne Gostisbehere for literally nothing in return.

https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article...-picks-flyers/

We can't even rid of Eriksson.....

68style 07-22-2021 02:11 PM

Tbh I’d rather let Eriksson’s contract just run out at this point with him in the minors then give up 2 picks including a second (!!!) just to dump him somewhere.

6thGear. 07-22-2021 02:19 PM

True but burying his contract doesn't save much cap space (Few hundred thousand I think??). His contract is quite bulletproof. Sitting him merely opens up a roster spot

Obsideon 07-22-2021 02:21 PM

I didn't even know you could make a "trade" like that, not even a 7th rounder back? lol
Arizona has always been the salary dumping grounds of the league.

68style 07-22-2021 02:24 PM

I'm not even sure why there needs to be a sweetener... Ghostbear is so obviously a product of a bad environment... must be some shit behind the scenes we don't know about with his attitude, I know he was complaining a lot last year but it seemed like a competitive guy saying his team plays like shit and he wasn't wrong. Dude still scored 0.5pts per game last year when he was in the lineup. How many Dmen can say that for a 4.5 cap hit? We're paying $6 mill in cap hit a piece for both Giraffe and Schmidt and neither of them can touch 0.5ppg.

Only 2 years left... why not... seems a likely candidate for a resurgence with a fresh start.

RiceIntegraRS 07-22-2021 02:30 PM

Yup no point trading him now, he only has 1 more year left. If we were gonna trade him, it should of been last year or the year before that. I would only get rid of him if someone would take him for a low draft pick at this point.

Someone on IG just noticed that Petey just removed Vancouver Canucks from his bio......... Benning said today he would match any offersheet Petey signs but why let it get to that point..... i dont understand. Theres probably a couple teams ready to give Petey a contract that he wants but Benning is reluctantly to give but will match no problem?

68style 07-22-2021 02:44 PM

Yah he should be careful, a team that’s on the cusp and wanting to go all-in for a run might go for it… even in the 6.16 to 8.22 range a first, second and 3rd for Petey might be worth the risk for a few teams and the price would be tough for the Canucks to match if it’s a longer term and above 8.

I'm a bit worried about the Canucks core stars tbh............ Petey hasn't proven to be very durable and I'm not so sure he's a team carrying player... and I feel like there's a real risk of Hughes bolting to the USA or joining his brother or brothers somewhere, especially if NJD drafts Luke. I don't get the impression Miller is going to stick around either... even Horvat had some feisty comments at the end of the year. Maybe the Sedins can come in and bridge that gap between the players and management but I feel things could get disastrous in a real hurry here.

RiceIntegraRS 07-22-2021 02:50 PM

Its a classic Benning move, gives 3rd liners whatever they want and handcuffs himself then but plays hard ball with our best players.

68style 07-22-2021 02:58 PM

Yah of all the UFA/RFA the Canucks have this year, they make the most obvious commitment to Tanner f*cking Pearson... sigh.....................

Just checked it's not in his bio but still ahs profile pic of himself in canucks jersey. He's also on vacay in Greece atm

murd0c 07-22-2021 03:05 PM

I was so excited for the last two days but it was nothing but a yawn fest... All I know is they better not fuck up the draft tomorrow.
