Penalty or no penalty, Petterson should have gotten up right away instead of giving the puppy eyes to the ref.

pastarocket 01-24-2024 09:08 PM

The Lotto line has not been producing offence on 5 on 5 play for the past few games.

Tocchet broke up the line today in order to get Miller Petey and Brock going.

What is happening with the offence from these players?

Agreed... Gotta play through these non-calls in the playoffs cuz the refs often put away their whistle.

It was so funny watching him get back up. He looks so defeated that he didn't get that call. lol. That attitude won't win you any cups.

The Sedins better start teaching these kids the unfavorisim (sp) they'll start to face at the top of the standings.

spoon.ek9 01-25-2024 06:55 AM

he needs to learn to get right back up, get back into the play and complain to the refs simultaneously lol. it's ok, still a learning process. petey has been having a great year, just gotta fine tune some things before playoffs arrive.

whitev70r 01-25-2024 07:21 AM

These are the signs that indicate this group might be a good regulation season team and will have a steep learning curve to be a playoff team.

spoon.ek9 01-25-2024 07:29 AM

luckily they had a taste of playoffs during bubble year. that should help them but there's always more to learn.

whitev70r 01-25-2024 07:56 AM

too bad Canucks missed out on Corry Perry for playoff experience.

spoon.ek9 01-25-2024 08:01 AM

I just realized with the 1 point last night, Canucks have 69 points on the season.

Nice

We don't need/want Perry. Let him waste his time in Edmonton.

68style 01-25-2024 08:33 AM

Yah where you even put slow ass Perry in the Canucks lineup? He doesn't want to play the style Tocchet employs.

Pay him to sit in the room and give motivational speeches? Demonstrations on how to be a cheapshot artist? Fuck that guy

whitev70r 01-25-2024 09:18 AM

Sorry if sarcasm wasn't obvious about Perry.

What about Pittsburgh? Dubas 'vision' didn't pan out. They may have a few pieces that could help. Rutherford and Pitts have connections. Wild idea by a TSN commentator, prob will never happen but Crosby is a free agent next year. Might he ask for a trade for one last run at a Cup? Like I said, wild. He doesn't seem like someone who is interested in being a rental player.

I was thinking that about Crosby, what a perfect time to trade him to the Canucks. He would honestly be the perfect fit for a second line center and would make us the top contender to win it all.

Crosby playing for the Canucks would be quite intriguing.

Our team has not had a good history in trading or acquiring big name players. Especially elite players who can provide leadership.

https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/gret...g-canucks-1996

Gretzky could have been a Canuck. It did not happen.

We got Messier instead. Fucking Moose messed up the team chemistry by working with Keenan to get Linden out as a Canuck. Moose got injured and played awful for the team.

Having said that, Crosby brings everything that the Canucks need. Stanley Cup championship experience as a three time winner. Leadership experience as a long time captain of the Pens. Sid is still producing offensively at a near elite level at the age of 36.

Crosby's faceoff percentage is also quite good at about 60 percent.

The man is clutch when the game is on the line as millions of people saw with his OT winning goal in the 2010 Winter Olympics gold medal game. I think he is the best player that we have seen in our generation.

-depends on whether Sid wants to play for the Canucks. Does he want to play on the west Coast and deal with all the travel from long road trips? He's been playing in the Eastern conference for his entire career. Does he want to live in Vancouver? :considered:

murd0c 01-25-2024 09:46 AM

What would a trade for him be? two firsts, Kuzmenko (cap dump) and Willander or Lekkerimäki... But if we did give up that ransom and won the cup I would be as happy as a pig in shit.

68style 01-25-2024 09:46 AM

I doubt Sid ever leaves Pittsburgh, except if it's by retirement. He's so loyal to every part of that organization.

so loyal that he might accept the right trade to help the future of the Pens. Also having the chance to win another cup would be pretty darn nice.

spoon.ek9 01-25-2024 10:06 AM

that would be freaking insane if they pulled off such a deal. and in the end, they would either come across as geniuses or absolute dumbasses depending on the outcome. no middle ground there, it would be cup or bust.

murd0c 01-25-2024 10:12 AM

I can't see it happening at all but one can dream.

HonestTea 01-25-2024 10:19 AM

I'd go out and get a Crosby jersey right away if that ever happened lol

Crosby bringing Stanley Cup to Vancouver in 2024

LFGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

bobbinka 01-25-2024 11:32 AM

Can we have Erik Karlsson too?

bobbinka 01-25-2024 12:24 PM

whitev70r 01-25-2024 12:28 PM

Crosby ... you can always dream. But if he ever came to that point of wanting to have another run at a cup as a rental (and possibly a few more years with that team after this year), might he not choose Colorado for the Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia connection? And whatever you think of Colorado, the team pedigree and culture there is strong.
