Jesus christ that Hughes pass to Garland that led to that scoring chance

We're witnessing an all time great, enjoy it!

spoon.ek9 04-16-2024 06:33 PM

SkinnyPupp 04-16-2024 06:35 PM

bobbinka 04-16-2024 06:38 PM

Get Hughes some points pls

Hondaracer 04-16-2024 06:48 PM

They were talking on the radio today about Meyers being a good fit in his role now firmly behind Hronek and Zadorov. So if you can sign Meyers for cheap maybe giving a Hronek a little more makes more sense

East matchups:

Tampa V Florida
Boston V Toronto
Carolina V Islanders
New York V Washington

68style 04-16-2024 06:59 PM

Toronto another first round exit

bobbinka 04-16-2024 06:59 PM

looool, what I would pay to see Toronto lose to Boston again

Gumby 04-16-2024 07:01 PM

Interesting stat: This is Myers 4th SHG, which is 3rd all time for short handed goals by a Canucks' defenseman.

Spoiler!

spoon.ek9 04-16-2024 07:08 PM

Joshua increasing his next contract again :alone:

Here's my picks/predictions:

Florida in 7
Boston in 6
Carolina in 5
New York in 5

No shutout for Demko as the Phlegms score on a shot that bounces twice before going in

Hondaracer 04-16-2024 08:31 PM

Hot take (or maybe not) Miller is a better player than Naslund ever was

68style 04-17-2024 07:26 AM

I'd agree with an asterisk... the emotion... Naslund had ZERO... made me really dislike him at times.

That said, I think Naslund doesn't get enough credit for his skill level because he made everything look effortless whereas Miller looks like he's giving it his all whenever he makes things happen.

snowball 04-17-2024 07:34 AM

No swedish canucks player has ever had emotion haha. Theyre not the same player type for comparison though. One a power forward, the other a pure sniper. Naslund did score 40 goals 3 times during dead puck era but Miller's the guy you want on a deep cup run.

This is the first time Canucks won the Pacific Division.

The last time they won their division it was the North West Division.

Naslund was also brutally honest as a former captain.

Remember Nazzy’s speech to reporters about the team choking?

I was a huge Naslund fan, but that time (and the only time I’ve ever seen this EVER since the shootout has come in) when he missed the puck in the shootout just showed me he didn’t give a fuck anymore. Or he was so broken that it got to that.

He always was a one dimensional player and I give him credit as the goal scorer he was, incredibly exciting part of the WCE. However, as an overall player, Miller is much better.

Also to think a lot of people (myself included) didn’t really think he would get back to that 99 point pace from last season, and he not only does it but passes it, very impressive

Back in October who would of thought that the Canucks would win the Pacific with a chance to win the entire Western Conference... I do hope Dallas wins tonight so we don't win the Western conference.

whitev70r 04-17-2024 08:12 AM

If LA wins their last game (which they prob will if they try, playing CHI), both them and NSH will have 99 pts with 38 Regulation wins. Then what is next deciding factor for tie breaker? GF? This will obviously affect who the Canucks face in 1st round.

So here is a reminder of the NHL's tiebreaking procedure if two or more teams end up with the same number of points.

Regulation wins
Regulation and overtime wins
Total wins
Most points earned in head-to-head competition: If teams had an uneven number of meetings, the first game played in the city that has the extra game is excluded.
Goal differential
Total goals

Total number of overtime wins for the teams involved in the tiebreaker matter quite a bit too.

Assuming LA wins and ties the Preds in points

Preds - RW: 38 & ROW: 44
LA - RW: 38 & ROW: 41

Canucks looking they will play against the Preds unless they win against the Jets to win the Western conference then it would be LA.

Edit: I guess it could still be against Vegas if LA wins their last game and Vegas loses their last.

the preds win the tie breaker between LA or Vegas
