These are really dope - like a Porsche Macan before that was a thing.

Parts are really hard to find now - headlight swivel motors, rear steer components, even windshields for the adaptive cruise equipped models

Astulzer i hope to meet you one day. This is what I imagine you talk like. Don Atari is the best.

I contemplated a long time thinking if I should put into the good buy thread...

BadHobz reminded me these could be had for $38K at one point... but honestly its $62K asking is pretty fair in today's market given its milage... and... $10,000 worth of claims~

bcrdukes 01-19-2025 03:16 PM

At one point, yes. But not anymore.

Not sure I'd want to pay that money for a first model year, though. But that's just me.

JDMDreams 01-19-2025 04:11 PM

Isn't that 996 turbo money

bcrdukes 01-19-2025 04:17 PM

Yeah, no.

Maybe in Calgary/Edmonton, but not a Vancouver or BC based example. They are still upwards of $100K.

westopher 01-19-2025 04:43 PM

I'd rather pay the 90k for the 996 turbo over 60k for a 997 and then 30-40k for the impending motor rebuild.
I really want a 997 in a way, but the .1 are honestly pretty bad cars in terms of the issues they come with.
That is a great looking car though.

Badhobz 01-19-2025 04:55 PM

I know the dollar is shit, but isn't it still a better deal to buy from the USA and import one yourself?

https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/b...m_trusted=TRUE

35k USD = 50k cad + taxes = 55k?

If you negotiate it down maybe you can have it for 30k USD. Since its orgeon no state tax.

or this cab one for 30k+ WA state taxes

https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/b...m_trusted=TRUE

or 40k for this coupe one..

https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/6...m_trusted=TRUE

Honestly it seems the prices in the USA arent as insane as Canada. 40k USD is totally within the realm of affordable if you made a half decent living in the states. Its only in butt fuck Canada that the prices are insane.

westopher 01-19-2025 05:16 PM

Both of those have higher mileage and look not as nice as the local one. Add taxes/duty and travelling and they are just as much. That said, higher mileage cars often fair better because lots of the issues are cars being pushed before oil gets temp.

Hondaracer 01-20-2025 08:36 PM

May have a 993 911 for sale in the next few months.. will post some details if it pans out

JDMDreams 01-20-2025 08:42 PM

I thought the 993s were even more hyped up. Unless you wanna rwb

Hondaracer 01-20-2025 09:12 PM

Well.. 993’s are a proper Porsche.

2011 XF-R - $17K - 120,683 km

I know the XFR-S is a thing, but it's almost 50K more and it's a bit too boy racer (ironic right)

I don't remember if these were the decent years when they used the Ford motors or not. I know the f type with the super charged V6 had head gasket issues.

68style 01-21-2025 09:10 AM

These are supercharged v8

immorality 01-21-2025 01:48 PM

These engines were post Ford era, but pretty decent. It's hilarious that the v6 and the v8 use the same block, but with different machine work & heads... great cost conciousness :lol

Manic! 01-21-2025 03:37 PM

Have a customer who has a jag that looks similar to that. Was surprised it was diesel.

68style 01-21-2025 03:58 PM

They made an XF Estate as well... pretty beautiful car
