DHD: I HATED the black plastic shit (gotta repaint them all again haha). I MIGHT try and crhome dip my extra air dam lol (there's a company around that can chrome ANYTHING...it'd be fuckin' pimp). And I like the all-red tails....but clears are so freaking rare...I'm pretty much the only S-truck around with them these days.

proshoraca: hahaha thankfully the truck is so light that if I get a flat I can just lift it enough to put a jack underneath (not kidding). It's too low to go on a jack, and I have to lift it by hand anyways....so I'm not too worried (famous last words lol).

down_hill_dog 03-20-2006 08:24 AM

thanks colin! I believe it's a VIS. it's a little older, and by no means perfect.. But it does the job I was looking for it to do.

Dirt Rider 03-21-2006 04:35 PM

installed new (to me) drivers headlight... old one was turning yellow and had at least and inch of water in it heh

down_hill_dog 03-23-2006 11:22 PM

Yesterday my car completely died on me in traffic. A little furious i had a suspicion as to what it was. The coil in the distributor died on my AGAIN. Being the second time in one year I ordered and installed an MSD SCI Blaster SS ignition kit. After it having failed the second time, there is no way i'd want to be in Vancouver and have this happen. No more internal coil bullshit. Hopefully the MSD unit proves to be reliable.

Today I also installed a non burnt out H4H bulb into my one piece headlights. Thanks Tom ! :p

RRxtar 03-24-2006 02:56 PM

^funny, as soon as i read your first sentence i thought "coil".

down_hill_dog 03-24-2006 03:11 PM

it's really retarded on how often it happen on these internal coil cars. It died on me on the way to work this morning AFTER the MSD unit.. But i think it was due to improper grounding on my part

Tchleung 03-24-2006 04:18 PM

On my more friendly daily driver, it's on the THRID dizzy now. On my car, it's on it's 5th I think. I went through 3 dizzies in a matter of months. all ranging form Coil to ignitor to completely seizing the bearings. This was with full ignition setups, or jsut external coil. or bone stock. I generalyl try to drive aronud with a worknig Dizzy and a 12mm wrench in the back seat, no joke.

it seems like they gave a re-design to the dizzy's on G3's because i don't hear it being as much of a common problem for them.. hopefully!

RRxtar 03-24-2006 06:06 PM

in 3 years of owning my teg i never had one go, but nearly everyone else i know has. at least once. jons teg it went twice with me in the car. once was the coil, once was the rotor.

down_hill_dog 03-24-2006 09:38 PM

Died on me on the way home from work again tonight.. I played side of the road mechanic and took off the distributor to install a new ignitor. After that it ran fine once again.
