87 mustang hah.

Gonna be some serious power....

302 bored .060 over, coated flat tops, fully balanced and blueprinted.

Then a crap load of money parts, and a crapload of fuel.

Looks like you'll be running gears instead of chain

Gave the 22r a good clean and a few new gaskets.

New stuff don't need grease.... old stuff it's a simple grease gun. UJoints that need to be greased are garbage.

Tchleung 09-25-2008 11:20 PM

Grease-able u joints = hollow = weak as shit.

Nice work sof ar Kyle! Yesterday Ed was telling me to come voer and take a look at a head of a customers where they didn't drill the holes far enough. who woulda thought it was you hahaha.

I've always come to the conclusion that greasable are good. Every rig I have ever worked on has greasable nipples, I believe slingers have around 100 grease points. I grease up my vehicles once a month to squeeze out any grime/moistier. I'd rather have a weak u-joint break than a more important driveline part.

Sealed u-joints are that... sealed. You won't get moisture in them and theoretically last longer than greasable... if not the life of the vehicle.

zumvette 09-26-2008 10:10 AM

New peterbuilts have greaseable ujoints but the warranty is void if you grease them within the first 150,000km. lol

Sealed and greaseable have there places. Depends, I am lazy so I like sealed but on my big truck I like greaseable.

Slo40 09-26-2008 12:59 PM

actually spicer makes u-joints that have the grease nipple in the end cap FTW

Spicer makes the best quality u-joints in the biz by far.

racer__X__33 09-26-2008 04:32 PM

precision also makes end greasable u joints...with a needle type fitting so u dont rip ur nipple off...just ask for the heavy duty ones instead of the other shitty "oe" ones...

jeffh 09-26-2008 05:38 PM
