We get a job. Even if your job pays $8/hour assuming you work 10 hours a week you still get $80....that is...if you don't spend money for a week.

My plan is $60 and I make that in a full day of work

Simplex123 10-26-2011 08:34 PM

He did not literally mean he could not afford it. Just a figure of speech.

BaoTurbo 10-26-2011 09:03 PM

Oh LOL. Nah I didn't mean to be aggressive. Just pointing out yea usually a job can afford a plan like that for students. Plus you get work experience

I'm keeping it. I think it's a really good plan. I just added the other stuff. I found out Rogers was lying to me, so Ill be calling them soon... (new contracts = 2.35 SAF not 6.95 like they told me)

Hmm.. How did you get $0.70 credit for SAF lol. You can call in and ask them to fully credit your SAF. I was able to do that for my plan 1.5years ago~, but it might be harder to get it credited now because of how strict they are now.

maybe i just had shitty jobs lol! I have never paid more than $50 a month for a phone line, and thats back in the Motorola Star-Tac days. to me that's insane. but then again I hate talking on the phone.

This is true. People making even $13 an hour shouldn't have cellphone bills that cost $50+. It is really living beyond your means. $60 buys me a week and a half of groceries with left overs.

People these days complain they have no money, it's because they spend it on frivolous things like (expensive) data plans.

THIS.

Highschool kids/college kids would still be hardpressed to be making 13 an hour for your run of the mill average job.

Original Plan

$50 - Unlimited Voice / Text North America
$15 - 150mb data
$7 - CID
$8 - Fees & Taxes
------------------------
$80 - Total

New Plan

$50 - Unlimited Voice / Text North America
$30 - 6Gb data
$7 - CID
$8 - Fees & Taxes
-$5 - Credit
------------------------
~$85 - Total

I tried to get them to credit CID. They wouldn't budge. I resigned for 3 years as I got a 4S as well.

wow.. i can open up 3 Mobi lines and still have money left over... :fullofwin:

If i was in town making $8/hour, I'd be right there with Wind or Mobilicity. But since my hourly rate is more than most of the people in this thread make in a day i don't expect you to understand.

I travel for work, that includes random trips outside major metropolises. I'm paid to be available anytime, anywhere.

My choices are Rogers or Bellus, and I may eventually have to switch to Bellus due to the lack of Rogers reception in some of the areas I work.

unit 10-27-2011 09:10 AM

^so you make more per hour than most people make in a day, and you're calling retentions 6 times to try to save a few bucks on caller id? :suspicious:

Yes, I was disappointed that my time on the phone with Rogers did not pay off in value. Over a 36month contract that's over a couple hundred dollars.

I automate and forget about all my bills until close to renewal so i try to do the work upfront and just have peace of mind that I did all I could for a good deal.

stuff99 10-27-2011 11:17 AM

I have the following:

300 Weekday
Unlimited evenings and weekends starting 6pm
Unlimited Incoming calls
Unlimited Network - Rogers/Fido
Call Display + Voicemail

Unlimited Texting Canada wide
Unlimited texting to USA and International when sent from Canada
6GB Data Plan

$52+taxes

Is this a good plan?

I'd say that's a pretty good plan. I think I need to strive for that on my next renewal.

Simplex123 10-27-2011 11:36 AM
