^ ~30$ a person isnt that bad.. at least u got ur protein from ur steak hah |
Gotham Steakhouse 615 Seymour Downtown Vancouver Great food, even though the price of a steak is like $50 a person. That's the steak only too. Anyways, the food was delicious, got my steak medium rare. Had to order fries and mashed potatoes on the side, but heck those were good too. Anyways, my mom finally opened her nail salon (not really, she expanded after 4 years) and so I took my family out to eat. So my mom, dad, uncle, aunt, aunt's husband, my other aunt, grandpa, grandma, grandma, myself and my sis, total 11 people. $615, that includes a bunch of steaks, some appetizers, and some fish. Sides weren't that expensive. Wine was a small bottle for $40 but that was expected from a restaurant like this. Beer was $10. Anyways, I would definitely come back again, thought it's quite expensive the food is quite worth it. 9/10 (price is a bit expensive) |
to be honest, 50 dollars for steak is a tad too much for me. I had to do an event one year there with 25 people and it was retarded. I dont' see a skill in steaks aside from aging them and cooking them properly. I see more appreciation on a sauce that's been in the works for 12 hours, or some crazy plating in a french restaurant. this is just me. |
El Barrio -2270 East Hastings Street, Vancouver Pulled pork Tostada appetizer 10/10, Nacho's 6/10 and Clams in coconut milk 8/10. Tostada's were excellent! Pork had lots of flavour, tortilla was nice a crispy. Nacho's were on the boring side, just tomatoes and cheese on them with salsa and bean dip. Clams were great, the garlic coconut base was so rich, came with fresh pita to soak it up with. Would of liked a paella, but you need to give a 12 hour reservation notice :okay: Service was attentive and friendly. 9/10 Ambiance was fairly up scale, good for dates. 8/10 |

Pho Ha in Rowland Heights, CA Pho Dac Biet - 6/10. Too much clove and star anise in their broth. Spring rolls - 9/10. They give you leaf lettuce, julienned cucumbers, and pickled carrot/daikon to wrap them in. Spring rolls were pretty good overall but not Hoi An good. Edit: This is by far, the slowest Vietnamese restaurant I've been to in my life. They also don't give a shit about you other than seating you, taking your order, hope for the best that you just eat without talking and not breathing, pay your bill (in cash ideally) and GTFO ASAP. For that, overall rating gets a 5/10. |

I find Chicago style is too overpowering on a good steak. You taste mostly the charred taste and not the quality of beef. At keg I would get Chicago but for real steakhouse I would just get it regular. Posted via RS Mobile |

Bistro The Home - Beside Estea in Richmond on Alexandra Rd, Asianized pasta. - pasta dishes were interesting but tasted mediocre. I thought it was bland. - drinks were cheap $1-2 during dinner time - Waitress was horrible; was dining in a table of around 10 people, she just gave us a piece of paper and pen and told us to write down what we want to order. Food: 6/10 Service: 0/10 Overall. Its a once in a lifetime place to try. Not going back. Don't know how it got such high reviews on urbanspoon. |
anybody know any good places to have brunch thats open tomorrow? |

If you're ever looking for good pasta, try out Cucina Toscana on 8580 Cambie Road. Considering the price, location, service and food, I had a pretty good experience and would return. The cook there is Chinese but he did a pretty good job and even came out to check up on us himself. Don't let the website fool you. :p cucinatoscana.ca - Home |
8 Juice in Abderdeen sells "bubble tea" for about $6 w/o perals. Just the juice itself, they charge 50c for the additions in your drink. Tapioca is on the menu rather then regular perals. Very expensive, and the cashier is kinda deaf, I had to ask for tapioca 3 times before it registered in her head. I got a strawberry slush, which tasted pretty much like water with a bit of sour flavor, although it was my fault for choosing something out of season. WuFood or something in the same food court is pretty decent. It's two stores from the Caucasian food stand and they're wings are FANTASTIC. They're freshly made and the price isn't bad. $4 for 3 wings. The entire wing, not the middle of it, like we're used to. The milk tea they sell is $2, and pretty decent. I'll recommend it to someone else easily. |

tomokazu in general has shit service unless you're acquainted with the staff. I think this has been fairly well established. Your job is to serve the customers. All occupations will have their problems, and being a server, you will undoubtedly be in a situation with undesirable customers. If you cannot handle that, simply find a different job? Unless you're super wealthy and have no need to deal with people, you will always have the bad crowds to deal with. Sure, you can say its about mutual respect, but when you get attitude like in the situation above (I've had similar experiences multiple times at Tomokazu and we merely asked for water), it is unacceptable. |
