Not only that, the whole post concussion game =/= pre concussion game.

We all remember Eric Lindros, right?

It's actually not that unprofessional... the iPhone has a pretty decent voice recorder. Not really much different from using one of those digital recorder pen things.

I think its more of a convenience thing rather than unprofessional. Everyone has an iPhone nowadays.

and what he said^

Raymond added to Team Canada's WC roster! Grats!

So I watched the full Willie video on Canucks.com, he seems like he's still hurting and doesn't seem 100%. Makes you wonder if he'll ever be the same player and if one more hit could basically end his career. Hopefully he can play a few more years, it'll be a shame if he can't,

Tim Budong 05-13-2010 06:06 PM

It woulda been nice to have Willie Mitchell playing, but if the team went thru close to 4months without Willie, im sure they are fine without him.

I have to admit, I woulda loved him back there, but its been too long without him that the team played well enough without him and was able to adapt without Willie. It shows this team has diversity and a good team mentality. Sadly that game6 was not the case

choda 05-13-2010 06:16 PM

I definitely think we need to re-sign Mitchell, maybe I'm just biased because he's my favorite player, but I think he brings a lot to the team. I also think we need to re-sign Wellwood, he had a really good post season, and Ryan Johnson too, that guy has some friggin heart. I definitely think we let go of Demitra, Hordi, Rome, Alberts etc. I would like to see Cooke back here, he is such a good agitator, even though he takes stupid penalties, the pros outweigh the cons on him, just imagine Rypien Cooke and Johnson for a fourth line!

Mitchell wont be resigned until he passes physicals and he himself thinks hes well enough to play.

We already talked about Ryan Johnson, dont resign him please!

Hordichuk and Alberts are still under contract.

Cooke will never be a Canuck as long as AV is coach. There was reason why he was traded.

Only one of those you mentioned is a centre. And the centreman you mentioned is soft right now with back problems. He'll have to work to earn Wellwood's spot. It's not going to open up for him.

Mason Raymond to join team Canada at IIHF as per TSN

Quote:

With the second round of the playoffs nearing an end, several players have been added to their respective national teams for the World Hockey Championship in Germany.

According to CAA Sports, Vancouver Canucks' speedster Mason Raymond will join Team Canada for the upcoming qualification round.

Evgeni Malkin and Sergei Gonchar of the Pittsburgh Penguins have been added to the roster of Team Russia.

Also, Mikael Backlund of the Calgary Flames has been added to the Swedish roster.

I agree. Personally I'd rather have a proven centerman than a young guy who we don't even know if he's healthy or any good. No point rushing him into the line up if he's not ready. Hodgeson can play with manitoba to earn some experience if he has to.

sunny_j 05-13-2010 10:09 PM

i would like to see willie back next year for 2 years at $4million

Gumby 05-13-2010 10:16 PM

I'm also a Mitchell fan (big enough to have my son's middle name as "Mitchell"). His interview was respectful and in no way insulting. When he speaks, you can't help but listen. Captain material! I'd like to see him stay too.

DuhDang 05-13-2010 10:18 PM

Rushing players into the NHL is a bad idea. I remember stamkos first year and he fucken blew it because there were so much expectations + pressure. When he got sent to minors and came back 50 goal scorer!

iwantaskyline 05-13-2010 10:41 PM

So after the loss, Luongo tried to kill himself. He jumped in front of a skytrain but it went through his legs.

mickz 05-13-2010 11:08 PM

Team Canada's World Championship roster is too young and too weak. I don't expect them to even medal especially if they lost 4-1 to Switzerland who only has 2 EX-NHLers in Gerber and Stephan.

Dwayne Roloson, Steve Mason, Marty Turco, Cam Ward, Mike Smith, Manny Legace, JS Giguere and I'm sure there are many other goaltenders who were available prior to the start of the playoffs that I would choose over Chris Mason and Chad Johnson. Johnson's a rookie who only played 5 games this year, it's too risky to play a guy like this.

Mark Messier is going to look like a fool for omitting lots of star players from this lineup. Sure there might be guys who are looking to recover from the long NHL season or have personal issues they need to take care of and have decided not to play (ex. Getzlaf) but I'm sure the majority of Canada's star players would play if given the call.

I also don't understand why Team Canada would want dirty plugs like Steve Ott or Steve Downie representing them. Sure they've both represented Team Canada in the past but whenever they put on the Canadian sweater all Canadians just turn a blind eye to their antics. When they do the same things with their NHL clubs everybody is outraged. If Team Canada wanted an effective agitator who can actually play they should've taken Sean Avery instead.

Also, Martin St. Louis, Brad Richards, Mike Green, Eric Staal, Lecavalier, Iginla, Rick Nash, Stephen Weiss, where are all these guys?
