Yeah I already have a Xoom with a Transformer Prime pre-ordered. Coupon's good till 31 so I might just offer it to someone here if I don't find anything.

DavidNguyen 12-26-2011 04:39 PM

My purpose for this device was to use it as an E-reader.
Does it ever work well! I will never purchase another paperback
Book ever. One regret is not getting the 32gig

Oh and the speakers on this thing sound amazing!
So crisp.

Funny twist to my saga...

I ended up with one as a Christmas present lol

To my amazement, it worked great out of the box. No issues bridging, dead pixels, etc. Only issue I seem to have, is the tinest bulge on the back. I know I can return it because of this, but if it doesn't get bigger, I'm gonna leave well enough alone.

I'm still waiting for my bro in-law to set his up, let's hope his goes just as smoothly.

me and a cpl buddies grabbed the playbook today. 2 out of 3 had dead pixels, we got the 2 exchanged and still there were dead pixels albeit less than the ones we returned but still means we're gonna have to make another trip to exchange. god damn rim, control ur quality!
aside from the dead pixel issue tho i must say its still pretty awesome for $199

i ordered two online separately last month. both have arrived with no problems but ive only been billed for one so far on dec.4th. i am starting to think black berry messed up and i scored a freebie!

Chronix 12-27-2011 08:36 PM

ill buy one of you. pm me

Nlkko 12-28-2011 02:07 AM

I love mine. The problem with the wifi disconnecting intermittenly seems to gradually disappear. Freakin pissed me off in the beginning.

Bought it for reading news, books and surfing web and it does all that. Hope they fix the problem with movies sound soon. The multitasking is just beast.

I could careless for apps. I had an iPhone before and never really use the app store. I can watch pirated NBA streaming on firstrowsports :fullofwin:. Can't do that on a fucking iPhone or iPad, can I? :lawl:

Is there any best buy left with the 32gb for 250?

Simplex123 12-28-2011 10:09 AM

Best Buy and Future Shop are both selling it at 250. You can then also price match that price at The Source

FRStan 12-28-2011 01:35 PM

London Drugs has tons in stock. Same price 199, 249, 399. It wasn't advertised in their flyer (managers special) so not alot of people know about it.

Nabatron 12-29-2011 09:45 AM

So was picking up my morning starbucks and I was waiting for my drink when I noticed a family mom, dad, daughter just chilling with their tablets....the mom and daughter both had ipads and the dad had a playbook...just thought I would share my store since I never see a playbook anywhere else in the wild beside FS and BB haha

On a side note my playbook is going in for a third time and this time the customer serivce guy said he will be sending me a new one and yet I have no FedEx box to ship mine out yet and he said this last week fucking RIM tech support is fucking retarded legit a bunch of half brained idiots working there!

DavidNguyen 12-29-2011 12:09 PM

cant you just get a refund and goto a store and grab one?

Don't tell me your thinking of getting another one lol. I thought you were so relieved to return the first one you got.

Presto 12-29-2011 03:34 PM

I received my Playbook 16gb today. For 200 bucks, I figure it's worth having around just for casual browsing. What I really like is its ability to handle Flash.

I dont think thats possile now since its past a certain day they are just going to send me another one but honestly after the first "servicing" u expect the would fix the issue not add more dust to the screen dumb fucks!

Bored at work, so I rooted the Playbook.
This video served as a decent guide for the process:

One thing to note is that the latest OS2 beta (2.0.0.6149) doesn't work with Dingleberry, so you'll have to downgrade back to 1.0.8.6067 or 2.0.0.4869.

If you've gone to 2.0.0.6149, someone figured out a way to downgrade back to 2.0.0.4869 by inserting a couple files into the update process. Steps to restore are here:
is it possible to update (or downgrade) to 2.0.0.4869 using a local copy of os? - Page 3 - BlackBerry Forums at CrackBerry.com

You'll also need the backup RAR: https://rapidshare.com/#!download|22...BA3304C3E0|0|0

Groot 01-01-2012 12:52 AM

so if i root the playbook i'll get access to all the apps in andriod market?
