So after about 3 and a half weeks of using this, I think I'm finally gonna make the switch back to Blackberries and put my Galaxy S2 up for sale. I've tried liking Android phones, but just doesn't seem like the right thing for me :(

cctw 09-10-2011 01:31 PM

^lol try going to somewhere remote where you have like 2 bars of signal and ur phone searches constantly for signal.
I went from 100% to 70% battery life on standby in 1.5 hours and i'm on villain rom too..
it was so bad..using my phone while charging actually depletes my battery XD

i want to get the new china phone LOL

i upgraded my firmware to 2.3.4, kg6 and battery life improved.
rooted and using titan backup to freeze unnecessary apps like kiesair, all the hubs, wifi sharing, buddies, im, etc.

now my display is always at 90/100, heavy game/video usage will still drain like crazy. never tried a full day of watching videos though, but at the rate i am getting, i think i can watch about 6 hours of videos before battery is completely drained.

ordered the 3500mah battery, gonna see how that works out. you can get one cheap at dealextreme.com, the case they give you on that site is better than the ones on ebay, plus it's made in the US i think.

You should know most stuff from dealextreme = garbage. Batteries are probably not actually 3500mah and stick out the back like a sore thumb.

has anyone got the build in video call feature to work? Everytime i try i get "call failed".

I have a Galaxy S ii on Bell contacting another Galaxy S ii on Bell and it doesnt work.

JayEch 09-12-2011 12:03 PM

Yeah I answered this earlier. Its only if your mobile provider has video calling features enabled. Otherwise use Skype.

Specs on the Roger's SGS2 LTE edition:

LTE Smartphone & Mobile Hot Spot | Rogers LTE

If it is AWS capable, then can't you unlock it and use on Wind/Mobilishity?

If you read the reviews for any of their batteries, the life is actually even short than a lot of the standard batteries. My friend had batteries from there that started leaking acid and stuff after a few days.

Yup. I would never buy a battery from DealExtreme. Lucky for me I've never had to replace any of my OEM phone batteries before.

It's not compatible. LTE uses a different band.

Do you guys charge your phones overnight? Is it bad overcharging it? Googled and it said the battery can handle it, but just wanted to run it by you guys.

Armind 09-13-2011 05:05 PM

My phone turns off itself when i charge it over night.. weird.

JayEch 09-13-2011 05:22 PM

^truth. so annoying.

muteki 09-13-2011 05:57 PM

You can disable that o_o

!MiKrofT 09-13-2011 06:31 PM

Yeah I disabled the charge notification on mine too. I charge my phone every night regardless of how much battery is left. LION works best this way

JayEch 09-13-2011 06:54 PM

^ how do u do that?

Armind 09-13-2011 10:26 PM

I used the same settings for Set CPU as someone posted on here. It started happening after i start undervolting..

!MiKrofT 09-14-2011 10:04 AM

It's actually not confirmed. They updated the post. LTE will go live in 2 weeks. But that's in east coast. No ETA on the phones yet.

Future Shop to price drop Samsung Galaxy S II to $49.99 on 3-year

twitchyzero 09-14-2011 04:19 PM

i'll get the LTE version...resolution is not good enough for a Q4 2011 phone though and still no details on its thickness dimension.
