Any recommendations for using them in home made sushi? Batter for tempura or using raw ones in sushi?

punkwax 05-15-2015 06:53 PM

Off topic, but am I the only one who is skeptical about home made sushi? Never done it... don't think I ever will. Am I being paranoid? I eat sashimi every time I go out for sushi but just don't see myself doing it at home for some reason...

zilley 05-15-2015 07:14 PM

honestly, sashimi is supposed to be prepped in a specific way.

but I really doubt Ayce or many of the sushi places like banzai and samurai does it..

Ch28 05-15-2015 10:10 PM

Parents bought 5 lbs of them from T&T today and they were huge

Tim Budong 05-16-2015 04:10 AM

i don't think I will ever eat the prawns raw that I buy from TNT

however, i've done it at the docks... bought a lbs.. ate a few right there. some ppl had the most horrific look on their faces. I just look at them and smile holding the head of the prawn

jing 05-16-2015 08:44 PM

$15.99 at Grandview Superstore

rageguy 05-16-2015 10:10 PM

Had them raw, from Steveston. Didn't prepare them at all, just rip the shells off and away you go! Didn't have stomach issues.
