^ i have a big palm and skinny fingers so sometimes i can't pull off those manly handshakes... =(

SkinnyPupp 11-03-2010 01:33 AM

You can also try the hook grip if you are that much against using straps to lift heavier...

ws6ta 11-03-2010 09:36 AM

legs today :(

i always feel like throwing up after doing legs

triplexcel 11-03-2010 11:08 AM

same here. after all, it is your biggest muscle in your body which means it requires a shit load of oxygen.

went to the chiropractor yesterday to get my body realigned again and was told that i should feel 20-30% stronger than before. looking forward to doing deads today :)

I'm switching over to NOW Adam from Animal Pak. I hate having to take the 11 pills in AP. I've heard good things about both NOW and Opti so you can't go wrong with either.

fuck straps. chalk and a good bar to hang on to is all any of us lightweights should need
the one time i dled with chalk and a bar with some grip tape on it i felt like i would tear my arms off before i dropped the bar

back on topic of pills, i jsut take centrum multi and fish oil
then glutamine and creatine in my shake

SkinnyPupp 11-03-2010 05:15 PM

I hear you, if grip is the limiting factor at 250 lbs, then work through it. If it's the limiting factor at 400 lbs, then maybe straps will be beneficial overall.

hal0g0dv2 11-03-2010 06:15 PM

i usually use straps for lifts over 4 plates on deads if i am going for reps, if i am going for pr's at high numbers on deads i can usually switch grip for the lift

Bought some white flood today from popeyes. Decided to try it out before my workout and didn't feel anything until about 15 minutes later. You basically feel a really strong ball of energy inside you and you just keep going! I worked out for 1 and a half hour and sweat bullets. Great!

It's a great pre-workout supplement and I would suggest it. However I started with one scoop today, might do 1 and a half scoop tomorrow and see how it goes.

i would suggest staying with one since u did one to start, try and make it last as long as u can then take more

incubus 11-03-2010 08:54 PM

awesome delt workout today

halo is right 1 scoop of white flood is good enuff i always did one and im kinda a pwo junkie

jeffh 11-03-2010 09:31 PM

if you were to add up your one rep max on deadlift bench press and squat, what would the number be?
dl 395
bp 185
sq 215
795

did chest and legs tonight, i hate bench press, and i hate squats, fuuuuuu

d1 11-03-2010 09:54 PM

My grip is pretty horrible - at around 250lbs (deadlift) the bar starts slipping and by 295, I can only do 3 reps before I drop the bar.

DL: 315
SQ: 280
BP: 185
= 780

hal0g0dv2 11-03-2010 10:02 PM

above 1k

me and my friends were all discussing the big 3 after the gym tonight, defiantly something i am always chasing to get higher

RRxtar 11-03-2010 10:20 PM

have never actually performed a 1RM of any exercise

but if i did a roughly 5RM of the big 3:
DL: 350
SQ: 255 <- my squat is shit
BP: 275
total:880

if i used an obviously very accurate online 1rm calculator:
DL:395
SQ: 285
BP: 310

total:990

im quite certain i could pull 395 DL once and probably squat 285 once. i very highly doublt i could push 310 on the bench tho

we know that, but how high?
haha

DC5-S 11-03-2010 10:30 PM

bench: 200
deadlift: 330ish
squat: 275
@145lbs

total 805

BlackV62K2 11-03-2010 10:31 PM

Bench: 255 @ 6 reps
Squat: 275 @ 6 reps
Deadlift: 255 @ 6 reps <--- Yes I know my DL sucks lol. But I had a lower back injury that stopped me from doing any DL for 6 months
Total: 785

Total of 911 for the 3 (BP, SQ, DL) using some online max rep calculator.
