In that article he mentions "There's no need to stand on a Bosu ball and look like a dweeb. Just lift fast! Also, be sure to incorporate single-limb exercises into your training plan in order to really reap the benefits of enhancing stability strength". What exactly is single-limb? Like just a dumbell in one hand type of lift over a barbell type of idea?

Like instead of military press, you do overhead dumbbell press one side at a time. Or single leg dumbbell deadlifts instead of standard deads. There are a lot of single limbs thrown in his programs. It allows you to lift more explosively near your rep max, since it will be much lower. Also it works stability muscles for higher neural activation.

BTW if you ever wanted to be "Peter North", take Maca. 6g a day (so if your capsules are 500mg each, take 12 a day) taken with meals. Takes about 2-3 weeks to kick in.

Yeah, the one I took was "Now foods" but not the "6:1 concentrate" but rather normal 500mg capsules. So maybe with that stuff you'd need to take much less...

got some pretty solid burn in my sholders tonight for the first time in a long time.
did the half arnie seated sholder press things rrxtar blah blahs about. superset with chin ups
-military press superset with seated rows
-standing flap your arms like you are some massive jacked bird (dunno wtf those are called)
then Deadlifts booyah 315x4 (grip has been fucking me over hard on these)
and some farmers walk after to destroy my grip the rest of the way

Have you tried using straps yet? I'm not at that point yet, but I don't see much harm in using straps when your grip becomes the definitive limitation in some lifts. It's not like we're competing here, just want to lift as big as possible for gains right :)

Just don't do what the guy I saw do the other day at the gym - using straps on the lat pulldown machine :eek:

i work on my grip rather than use straps so i can someday do this.

eric cressey weighs 165lbs deadlifts 660 pounds with only chalk.

stronger grip = bigger numbers on pretty much all your lifts. even on pressing movements.

grip strength is what makes you manly. tearing phone books and a deck of cards, bending nails, opening jars, bone crushing handshakes, hauling heavy things in your hands, climbing stuff, chopping wood.

i'm also a firm believer in fixing your weaknesses/imbalances.
