Whats the easiest way to get all my veggies in?

rslater 11-03-2010 11:59 PM

I believe most people use their mouths, unless you've been doing it from below, then I would say its time to change to your mouth.

The_Situation 11-04-2010 12:18 AM

Your sarcasm is not appreciated.

Sitchz out.

i drink a can of v8 everyday with lunch to get some sort of veggies.
try that or cut up some celery and carrot sticks to snack on.

Matlock 11-04-2010 03:20 PM

Gotta do the BB bench. its a entirely seperate beast
judging from ur squats and DLs...you should climb to at least 200 easy...big assumption

What do you guys find is the most effective way to increase your dumbbell weights?

I'm doing sets of 3 of 8 for my shoulders and I'm trying to increase my weight. Would you say keep doing the weight I am now but add in a rep or 2 more? Or would you say to move up 5 pounds and try and push out as much as I can even if its only 4 reps....?

The question you need to answer is, why are you doing 8 reps per set? You are doing 24 total reps, why not increase the weight, and do as much as you can per "set" until you hit 24? This way, you'll be able to continue adding weight.

They have a low sodium version that I usually buy.

This. IMO, your doing enough reps per set. Increase the weight. If your finding 8 reps to be pretty easy at the moment, then you'll be able to do way more than just 4 reps by only increase 5lbs.

5'7" @ 155lbs:

Deadlifts: 315lbs
Bench: 205lbs
Squats: 185lbs Neglecting squats a lot lately. T_T

Total: 705lbs!

RRxtar 11-04-2010 08:37 PM

As soon as I can crank out 3x8 clean reps of something I add weight and drop to 4x6

Get a training partner to lift/spot you, work till failiure and get help getting negatives done... increasing weights is like 50% mental IMO.

The_Situation 11-04-2010 08:53 PM

I hope they carry V8's in gaint 24 packs. The most veggies I'm getting in is from subway.

SkinnyPupp 11-04-2010 08:59 PM

V8 juice is mostly water and tomato paste, with some carrot paste, and a tiny bit of celery and beet paste. And a few minute amounts of other reconstituted pastes.

It's not even close to being like juicing.

IMO it would be better to buy a green drink powder like Greens+. But nothing beats a juicer. I usually throw in 1 lb of any random green vegetable (usually Chinese veggies since they are cheapest for me) and 1 or 2 fruits for flavour (and of course more nutrients). A juicer is a good investment, just expect to spend a lot of time cleaning the damn thing

Alright thanks for the tips. Ill just increase and see how many I can do.

the reason I'm doing 8 reps is bc its what the workout I'm on says to do so I'm just sticking with it.

Anyone have any advice for trying to trim down fat around the core? I know there are your basic crunches, but stuff that I can work into a workout would help me out too. I'm not looking to get bigger, I'm trying to cut down. I would try to get more cardio in, but my endurance isnt the greatest (had a gym card for the last little while, but school has killed me.) I went to the gym today and just did a bunch of random stuff to get my feet wet, and I plan to go 5-7 days a week if I can.

Oh yeah, I have no idea what to do about supplements and stuff, and I can't really afford it either, any effective cheap stuff would be good. If not, just go with lots of veggies/fruits and lots of protein while avoiding stuff like white rice?

Any other things to help my cut down my weight would be awesome

Thanks
