First thing I wanted to do was dead lifts on the lifting platform, but just my luck some guy wanted to do curls in the rack. I figured he was a big guy, so np BUT he only put 30 lbs on the bar for all of his reps... blarg.

Anyways I did DLs on beside the platform. I really like the noname bumper plates, but it will be limiting when I go with heavier weight.

Really? I never find anyone doing curls in racks there anymore. What time do you go? Honestly, when the platform is being used and the space beside it as well is too. I go right in between the Incline Bench and Flat Bench Press's if I have to. I'm not going to let a busy gym get in the way of my workout.

I just got over a stomach bug yesterday, with puking, diarrhea, and fever. But I feel fine now... wonder if I should go for my scheduled gym day... hmmmmm

trancehead 11-05-2010 06:06 PM

I also witness sedomeone doing curls in the power rack. I nodded my head in shame

Awesome workout tonite!

Incline Bench 5x5 (245lb)
Cable Row 3x8 (240lb)
Standing Shoulder Press 3x8 (120lb) <- just started, adding 10lb every day i do it. my new favorite exercise
Wide Neutral Grip Pulldown 3x7 (190lb)

when I was doing my Incline Bench a regular dude came over and said "dude thats amazing. real strong! you've always been strong tho" so I told him that when I first started 2.5 years ago I could barely manage to bench 20lb dumbells. And then explained abit about how the change started coming when I started lifting heavy with high intensity.

I went at 11:30 AM on Friday.

Ya, I like this gym so far because there is lots of space to always be doing something. No waiting around at stupid Bonsor.

I agree, went there a few times in the past and that place is just a gong show with everything everywhere. I still remember seeing a skinny black kid trying to db press 100's in a attempt to show off to his friends. He fails to even make 1 rep of the weights and later blames his buddy for not spotting him properly :S. Oh yah, it seemed to be the new fad to bring in basketballs to the gym and bouncing them around when I was there.

They have one hammerstrength platform and maybe 8x45 lb bumper plates, etc... The 45s are very fat so you may only fit 4 on each side

hal0g0dv2 11-06-2010 07:13 PM

i usually put one bumper plate on just to reduce noise or else i cant fit all the 45's on hehehe

Golds has pretty much everything you need IMO.

Honestly I have my cellphone with me in the gym, I guess its a habit but I still get my shit done.

I don't go off on it like some people do. Some literally walk in the gym on their phone, change into gym attire, get back on their phone, stretch, make a phone call, do a set, call someone... and so on. THAT pisses me off.

RRxtar 11-07-2010 08:33 AM

what do you need your phone for thats so important you cant leave it in your locker for an hour? or check it every 15 minutes in your locker?

triplexcel 11-07-2010 10:26 AM

For me, since I don't have an ipod anymore, I like to use my phone as an mp3 player and also to record my progress :) a little bit of txting doesn't hurt.
