Hal0 have you always been an easy gainer?

hal0g0dv2 03-04-2011 01:31 PM

a bit i guess

strykn 03-04-2011 01:42 PM

i think anybody can gain massive size/muscle if your throwing back 6k+ calories a day

just curious are most of you guys training for aesthetics? i go to the gym to push my mind and my body and try to best myself every time because that natural high is amazing and the aesthetics are just a bonus of that for me

I have to say, I got into the whole gym thing just for aesthetics but its been a year and a half now and I'd say now its all about increasing my lifts.. aesthetics are nice but comes second now. I love wearing tight t-shirts now, haha.

jack3d 03-04-2011 01:57 PM

aesthetics are a side benefit also. i do it to be more athletic and to prevent injuries. reacting faster, more explosiveness, etc. lifting is also really addicting for me. it's fun pushing the boundaries to see what your body can do. chalking up, cranking my favourite songs and moving some heavy iron. the feeling after you hit a new PR is amazing.

but yeah, i lift because i compete in judo. two competitors equal in every way but power, the stronger and more explosive one has the advantage.

The_Situation 03-04-2011 03:02 PM

I lift because it feels good. The sensation of the burn is better than cumming. Seriously though lifting is a way of relieving all of my stress and tension.
Gains and PR goals keeps my mind focused so I dont fuck around (drink, drugs, eat shit). Aesthetics are just a bonus.

somewhat yes, I used to be super skinny and all my clothes just hung on me.
I do it mostly just to get stronger though
I'm definitely not trying to get huge, nor am I as committed to the gym as hal0.

Those of you with fulltime jobs, I really dont know how you find the time to slam back 6-8k calories per day.

I've got major anger issues sometimes and just feel overly aggressive. Going to the gym and being made a bitch by some weights is a pretty enlightening experience.

I feel happier/more confident/better balanced in my energy levels after the gym .. it's become something I almost need to do 3x a week or I just get to the point where I feel really wound up and stressed.

Oleophobic 03-04-2011 03:43 PM

Aesthetics comes first for me. That doesn't mean I neglect strength though. I just want to look good. I don't give a shit about being huge. I just want to be 170lbs of solid muscle at 9-10% body fat.

That ice1cube guy on youtube is 170lbs and his physique is pretty much ideal for me. I mean at that size, I'm considered "huge" by the average person who doesn't workout, or works out casually only. Only hardcore bodybuilders say things like "anything under 200 is small" which bugs me because to consider whether someone is 'small' or not given their weight, you have to know their bf%, height, and frame size.

At the end of the long journey when I've reached my ideal physique, I don't want to have to eat 5k calories and 300g of protein a day just to maintain it. I rather spend my money on other things besides food and protein. That's why I have no desire to be huuuuge.

hal0g0dv2 03-04-2011 03:54 PM

well time to go take some steroids so i can workout for hour and a half or else i will die if i do not, i better double up its leg day so it might be longer

The_Situation 03-04-2011 04:52 PM

^ I knew it. Cheater cheater pants on fire.

RRxtar 03-04-2011 05:30 PM

fuck all you guys.

Im Pound 4 Pound strongest in this thread. :troll:

SkinnyPupp 03-04-2011 07:55 PM

FWIW I gained about 12-15 lbs a muscle since starting in September. I am not an 'easy gainer' or have great genetics. I don't take a ton of supplements, and I actually don't eat as well as I'd like. But I worked out regularly, eat to the best of my ability and motivation, and the lean mass came along over time.

If you are doing a roid workout from the magazines but aren't on roids, I can see why you would be frustrated about not getting anywhere.

im training 4-6 times a week now and get a good work out from the warm up and from rolling... do i really need to work out if i train this much ????

Depends on your goal. Sounds like you get enough flexibility/agility training.

Haha. Now kick those idiot curlers out of the squat rack with the roid rage. :fullofwin:

jeffh 03-04-2011 09:14 PM

aesthetics got me in, then strength is making me stay

and calling anyone who eats 8000 calories a day of clean proper food an easy gainer, is offensive

i stopped making excuses for myself 2 months ago now, never looked better, all my llifts are up (except FUCKING BENCHPRESS GRRRR) and im much more rested and energetic with the proper diet thing

now if i could stay away from the beers on a full time scale.... i dunno how awesome that owuld be

I don't get sore the morning after i work out anymore :(

Any advice? I thought getting sore meant your muscles are growing

I like how the bench press has a bar across to lean over while spotting. Never seen that before at the various gyms I've been to.

van_driver 03-05-2011 02:19 PM
