I tried glutamine like 5 years ago, it actually helped a lot for recovery. What brands do you guys recommend? Pills are easier to take if there are any

The 5x5 program does wonders, do you just do the 3 basic exercises or do you squeeze a few assistance exercises as well?

BrRsn 05-19-2011 10:33 PM

my bb.com order better come in fast ... my lifts are shit due to my weak ass grip/sweaty hands.

So excited, got a bottle of test freak (supposedly it works) sitting here, and im near my PR in all my exercises, as soon as all my shit comes its beast mode! aw yea!

I really really want to add in cardio ... right when I wake up everyday I wanna run to this hill near my house, and do sprints up it, come home and eat, but I'm afraid it'll kill my strength increases. What do you guys think? Sprints ok? 30 - 45 mins cardio per day prior to breakfast, all high intensity

exdee 05-19-2011 10:46 PM

^ i think it'll only hurt your strength increases the first few times you do it but after that your body should be able to handle the high intensity with the proper rest

My days would be have cardio first thing, weight lifting as the last thing, and about 12 hours between weight lifting and running (overnight). I want to do it just to improve my cardio and shed some fat, my cardio's shit right now. I used to be able to run 5 miles a day with no soreness/barely sweating ... today I was making some furniture and I started sweating lol. :speechless:

He trains really well, he does some of the best chest flys, I use at least one chest exercise in my work out.

the core exercises of the program I always do.

On the squat/bench/pendlay row day, i superset dips at the end.

on the squat/overhead press/deadlift day, i superset pull ups

Been nursing a shoulder issue for the last 6 months. I finally went to see a soft tissue guy, who's been working on it for the last week. Minor tendon problem with one of my rotator cuff's tendons. What a pain, I can't do anything without aggravating it including Black squats. I've been trying to work around it, but the shoulder is used for everything. I'm completely laying off the upper body for now. ugh

jeffh 05-20-2011 12:37 PM

^^ that stuff scares me
sholder was clicking a bit monday, and sore under load, but i said fuck it and dig mil press and sholder press anyways

now its all kinds of not good :(

hud 91gt 05-20-2011 01:16 PM

That's similar with mine, it's only sore under load, so i thought it would heal on it own. I'd wake up with the odd shoulder ache but it's not going away. I'm giving it two complete weeks off and then i'll go back to the Dr. I'm hoping it improves or i'll be pissed.

He suggested I never do any sort of barbell press again(stick with DB's), careful with dips(not too deep), and a few other exercises. He's a workout fanatic as well, so he know's what i've been up too and knows my pain. lol

hal0g0dv2 05-20-2011 01:28 PM

Yeah dips will hurt your shoulders sometimes

The_Situation 05-20-2011 03:28 PM

I wouldnt even do DB presses. It put's too much pressure on the shoulder.

BrRsn 05-20-2011 03:29 PM

super cheap somewhat healthy salads from mcdonalds :fuckyea:
http://www.mcdonaldscoupons.ca/

50% off salad coupon, print one out every day lol. Add 2 double cheeseburger patties and got a decent low carb meal.

He means ever, even after it heals. For now i'm totally off any upper body work.

But on the plus side, just finished my non squat leg workout.

Started with the leg press since I can't do my squats and managed 7 plates a side x 7. It's a lot easier when you don't do squats first. Pumped me up to see the machine full of iron, ha.

hal0g0dv2 05-20-2011 04:39 PM

Gonna try and get a 45 min chest workout in

2nd degree separation and torn ligament in my shoulder about 7 years ago...

Never got surgery cause I thought I was invincible and would heal on its own. I was such a fucking dumbass.

Can't play sports to my max potential without having my shoulder dislocate.

Even when working out my upper body, I lift peanuts compared to when I workout my legs.

Word of advice for you man, KEEP DOING REHAB ON YOUR SHOULDER NO MATTER WHAT! The shit will fuck you up BIG TIME in the long run if you don't take care of it.

strykn 05-21-2011 11:26 AM

first time supersetting back while doing chest yesterday... my god it was money , kicked me in the ass!

nns 05-21-2011 01:53 PM

When I squat on the 1st set, I feel a pinch and some tingling near my knee.

The vastus lateralis is where I feel it. It only happens during the 1st set or 2, then subsequent sets I don't feel anything. I've also noticed that, comparing both legs in the same spot, the symptomatic leg seems to be numb now in that spot all the time.

Has anyone experienced this? Stretching doesn't seem to help before my sets.

Sounds like a pinched nerve. Stop the squats for a few weeks, and watch where you put the bar when squatting.
