I would lift weights first. Doing HIIT first will drain you from your workout

Hey Guys,

Quick question, does it make a difference if i do HIT's first and then lift weights, or if i lift weights first then do HIT'S?

My main goal is to lose weight.

Thanks in advance.

I would do hits last. I started noticing a difference after I switched. Get alot better weight lift, and your body will show the difference.

Err. question.

It's been a year since i started training to get fit. 6 months in, i noticed that my left side develops better ; the whole left side practically. Now, a year in, and i notice that i have more mind-muscle connection on my left side too. I can feel the muscles more when i flex, and also when deadlifting, i can feel my whole left side more than my right. Whether that is because i have more mass on the left side, i dont know.

It's getting to a point where when i bench, the left side pushes up first, followed by the right. Or when i deadlift, the left side pulls first, and the right side goes down first as well. Anything requiring a barbell, my left side pulls first. My friends notice the movement as well.

I don't know what exactly is the problem. mind muscle connection? What should i do regarding this?

I agree with The_Situation. Switch to dumbbells on bench press. As for deadlifts, concentrate on letting your right side pull a bit more than my left, or try and keep the bar straight rather than letting your left side dominate your right. Exercises that you can do with both barbell and dumbbell, choose dumbbell. These little things will slowly bring your right up to par.

Standing overhead press > staggared standing dumbell press?
Deadlift - can do with dumbbell?
Bench - dumbbell press
bent over row - can do with dumbbells?

so who works out at sports central late night? Im there 10pm - 11/12pm. I'm loving the atmosphere, nice change of pace from my other gym.

^mkings, depending on how light you are willing to go, you can do just about anything with dumbbells lol. I know this is hard to hear, but lower your weight and just focus on your form. Keep barbell deadlifting but just focus on form. Its up to you which you want to do for the rest of the exercises. Try to focus on just lightweight high rep with perfect form, will give you nice pumps and eventually get both sides of the body caught up (talking about deadlift but you can apply this to any exercise you do). Just add the weight very gradually.

Fcukedd 08-18-2011 11:33 PM

OH you're on Stronglifts?

I say get off Stronglifts, and do a somewhat 3-day split (with all dumbbells if possible) for a while until the unevenness disappears because I highly doubt Stronglifts will work as effectively with dumbbells.

Just concentrate on form for Deadlifts, control it on the way down and make sure both ends touch the floor at the same time, etc.

New to deadlifts... Do you have to touch the ground? Would stopping 3/4 down improve your core?

You won't be able to stop 3/4 of the way every rep unless you're doing light - moderately light weight. No way in hell are you going to be able to control the weight when doing a 5RM (for example). Regular deadlifts will already strengthen your core, and so will squats, and other core-specific exercises.

ur doing a Romanian if u dont touch the ground, which isolates ur lowerback. if u touch the ground u are using legs + core + back. both are good depending on ur goals

i can stop 3/4th with 4-5 plates, u jelly ? :troll:

chest workout has been a hit and miss lately for me. i dont feel the pain on my chest area as much. seems like my forearms and shoulders are taking all the soreness from the weights than my chest.

maybe i shouldnt combine shoulder/chest day lol.

I'll be there today, Squatting. Biggest mistake I ever made in training was to stop squatting. I can barely do 225 for 3-4 reps now, was maxing at 315 for 2 before :okay:

Just make sure you use a graduated cylinder to measure the milk, measure the meniscus or it won't be accurate and will fuck up the Brotein.
