vafanculo 08-24-2011 10:51 PM

so finally reached goal number one after 3 years, and ive got another 30-40 pounds to lose. im currently trying to do a 8 wk cut i put together myself..basically clean diet, lots of ab work and HIT.

question is..

to lose the overlapping belly, does it just take time for all the fat to wither away, or are there some things i should/shouldnt be doing? Im 3 wks into my cut and i went from 224 to 219. I basically workout 5 times a wk, lift heavy weights, and do about 15 min HIT 3 times a wk after my lifting, also skip rope every day to get a good sweat going.

should i focus on more cardio, less weights? more ab work (3 x a week), or what else can i be doing? i feel like im losing about 2pnds per wk.

Focus more on diet. nutrient timing & carb timing.
Was 240 start of july, 220ish now and my gut is non-existent... read up on nutrition people don't lie when they say diet is 80% !!!

Kid cudi shirt, black trackpants, working out back? That's me :D haah. Who were u!?

Man back workout was ..meh.. today. Upped my weight on deadlift, slowly getting past my old max. It's funny, I remember when I thought i was so hardcore deadlifting 135 pounds lol, I just wish my bench would go up faster. Question about rack pull,

theres 2 settings that put the bar near my knee. One is just below, and one is just above my knee. Which one should I use?

You lose fat working out, but you lose belly fat in the kitchen.

Workout in an hour. Yeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Speaking of this, say I have 3 meals at work. When I say work I mean an 8 hour a day desk job, so I'm sitting 99% of the work day.

Which meal is best to limit the carbs?

I usually have breakfast, mid-day meal, then lunch

Breakfast is usually about 1030 ish

Mid day meal is about 130 ish depending on work load

Lunch about 4 ish

I usually have some almonds and fruit thrown into the mix too

I thought you are trying to put on size lol don't limit anything, only limit simple sugars.. imo breakfast is simple lots of oats, eggs, eggwhites

other 2 meals 2+ cups of brown rice and 60g of protein for each meal, premake it day before ur good to go! actually measure ur food, i cannot state this enough it makes SO MUCH OF A DIFFERENCE

edit: and always include ur veggies :) i eat like 2 cups of brocolli a day use to hate it now i love it just raw

use at the knee or slightly below u will be get a better conraction in ur lats and lower back. when doing rack pulls this is gonna sound weird but make a muscle - mind connection to ur lats and squeeze at the end of rep but like focus on squeezing ur lats.... u will be like :sweetjesus:

lol, thats funny. just prior to reading what you wrote, i was telling a friend how diet is 80%.

since i cleaned up my diet im starting to notice a difference. i think im on the right path - just takes time. also doesnt help when i see people over 200 with flat belly's, i think seeing that makes me question whether or not im doing it right/wrong

hal0g0dv2 08-25-2011 02:08 PM

Training is 100% and diet is 100%

do you guys lock your arms/legs when doing press exercises and squats?

i love the burn when doing these "half reps" but have to lift a little less to do it

like for squats, i'd go down, then come back up just past 90 degrees, then do down again, fucking buuurns, not sure if its helping with muscle building tho

Not a habit you want to do continually as you progress in weight. Imagine bouncing 200-300+ pounds off your thighs

RRxtar 08-25-2011 08:34 PM

step 1: scoop adams 100% natural peanut butter out of jar
step 2: dunk in nutella
step 3: om noms
