well, you could put matts under the weights

thats what me an RRxtar do at out gym to keep the peace

mkings 08-15-2011 09:30 PM

It's okay nns, he's just finding a reason to hit on you :D

rJZx 08-15-2011 09:41 PM

If i go full effort of dead lifts... i dont further exhaust myself by gently putting down the weight.... might make a bang but its a gym

I find it odd that he decided to talk to me, and not all the others guys in the background who were dropping their dumbbells for 15 + minutes.

i cant stand this horseshit either. its a GYM not sunday school

trancehead 08-15-2011 09:43 PM

but on another note...

after returning from vacation, my body is all show no go. i THINK i retained most of my mass, but I am clearly not lifting as much as i did a month ago :(

XplicitLuder 08-15-2011 10:43 PM

when it says "starting weight" is that how much weight each side should have or what.. ?

mkings 08-15-2011 10:45 PM

It's the weight, you want to start off the program with, including the bar

XplicitLuder 08-15-2011 10:48 PM

Gotcha. Thanks!

chin3se604 08-16-2011 02:07 PM

if the starting weight is where you start at

whats the 5RM ? cause the starting weight is always half the 5RM

and it doesn't make sense for me to start deadlift at 110lbs for 5 reps

Fcukedd 08-16-2011 02:53 PM

^ It's progressive overload.

If you start heavy, you won't be able to add weight each workout as naturally compared to starting light and working your way up

chin3se604 08-16-2011 04:32 PM

well anyways day 2 of my 5x5 stronglift

i up'ed 5 lbs to my squats which is now 200lbs
overhead press 95lbs
deadlifts 185lbs ---> was suppose to be 1 x 5 .. but i got carried away and did 5 x 5 lol

workout ended pretty quick too

JSilver 08-16-2011 06:06 PM

I cycle my routine to do 5x5. I usually finish 5x5 in like 30mins no problem. Try increasing your squats 5lbs every workout. You'll discover how easy it actually is. Its quite amazing lol.

MarkyMark 08-16-2011 06:08 PM

Jeez the moment you stop going to the gym for a few days you get lazy as fuck, going back today was like a kick in the ass trying to get the intensity back.

RacePace 08-16-2011 08:21 PM

This is how you bulk

Berzerker 08-16-2011 08:28 PM

Muscles Glasses ain't got shit on that guy. He's jacked. That vid was 10x better than any of the Epicmealtime vids in the last few months.

mkings 08-16-2011 08:40 PM

does anyone here incorporate the 5x5 stronglift to their current routine

or is it best to do the 5x5 stronglift alone ?

i don't like having 4 rest days

my workout just doesn't seem complete =/

You'll realize how much stronger you'll get later on, and probably bigger as well.

Splmash 08-17-2011 09:04 AM

My back has been feeling better lately so I started deadlifting again. FUCK HOW I MISS THAT FEELING.

strykn 08-17-2011 10:38 AM
