to me it indicates an efficent workout, but ive heard from others that soreness is not an indication of proper muscle breakdown.. but I dont care tho, thats the way I go about it. if you want your lats sore you really have to isolate them..

L0uie69 06-23-2010 07:26 PM

why not just do a bunch of eccentric work? that will satisfy your "i wanna be sore the next day" syndrome

hal0g0dv2 06-23-2010 07:29 PM

yeah some people talk about not getting sore after a workout, but i still think that sore is a good indicator that you kicked your muscle ass, lats are really hard for people to isolate its all about using your back and lats, most people take the load of back with there upper body and not using any lats at all, like when most people do bent over rows they more or less turn it into a trap exercise cause they think they can load 2 plates haha , i have never gone stupid heavy on back, i am all about isolating the lats and getting the blood in there, every singe workout i do for back is diff, but i keep dead lifts always

Alpine50 06-23-2010 10:39 PM

Finished a killer upper body work out today.

Question: which gainer would you guys recommend? There's 4 I'm looking at cellmass, quickmass, mutant mass, and there's one more that's line iso something can't really remember so don't worry about that one. My goal is to put on some weight and getting some more body mass. Was debating about creative and gainer but was told some gainers are both.

Thanks

Well if you want creatine... Check to see if those "gainers" you want contain it. Check out the ingredients.

mc25 06-24-2010 04:28 PM

I think some of you have the wrong idea of what creatine is for… If you want to gain, creatine shouldnt be the staple of your gain. Creatine is more there for your workout

RRxtar 06-24-2010 05:04 PM

exactly. creatine helps you push a little more a little harder in your workout. it wont make up for improper diet or wasting time in the gym.

if you arent eating twice as much as you think you should, and busting your fucking ass in the gym, creatine wont do anything for you.

you want to put weight on? eat more and lift heavy.

hud 91gt 06-24-2010 06:19 PM

Arm is still numb! I can't see a doctor for another week and a half. From the research i've done, it seems to be a pinched nerve. Apparently takes an extremely long time to recover from. I'm pissed. For now i'm popping anti inflammatories until I can see the doc. Hopefully helps a bit. Looks like a looong time off from lifting.

It must have been caused by squats, and that really makes me angry (yess soo very angry). I know I don't have the bar placed too high. I don't use a pad, I never have any pain with it on my traps (They just must not be big enough to cushion the weight :p ) grrrr... Sorry ranting.

Alpine50 06-24-2010 07:34 PM

My diets fine was just looking for something to add to it

RRxtar 06-24-2010 08:37 PM

imo, if you're shopping for a gainier, your diet isnt fine.

eat 2 more sammiches a day.

Alpine50 06-24-2010 09:30 PM

Only reason I want the gainer is bc I'd rather take that to help than just creatine, but if the creatine alone would do mire than I'll just take that

RRxtar 06-24-2010 09:53 PM

creatine isnt a magic powder that makes you get bigger or stronger just by taking it

if your diet is fine then why do you need a gainer? if you trying to gain weight, up the calories by eating real food.. gainers are like junk food, full of sugar and other crap..

RRxtar 06-29-2010 09:41 PM

i havent missed more than 5 days in a row in a year and a half.

Honyoung 06-29-2010 10:32 PM

FML, I have to take at least 3 weeks off the gym, weights and cardio. Holes in my retina, had surgery to insert gas bubbles into eye and a buckle into my eye to fix it, apparently when you lift heavy or exert yourself physically, pressure increases in your eye, so I can't do anything in the gym until it full heals :(

Going to have to keep to a strict diet while I'm out of the gym.

I know how you feel man, I was recently out for three weeks from hernia surgery. Hang in there

What steps are you taking to cutting? I'm trying to do that as well.

You said yourself that you arent being very strict on the weekends... If you want the weight to come off faster you gotta think what you want more.
Alcohol + junk food are a diet killer..

I personally would be cutting out the junk and taking some not so legal substances if I had the money that you have.

ps
If anyone pm's me asking me about this stuff I wont respond..

did you measure at the same time of day? measurement can vary quite a bit so you may have lost more than you think, or less, but hopefully more if that's your goal

not to shit on you but isn't it bad if the weight goes down too fast?
I read it should be 1-2lbs a week max depending on your weight and how fat you are.
I assume you're not really fat at all given that you've been working out for a long time
so losing 26 lbs so fast in 3 weeks that would mean some muscle is lost too?

honestly im not to sure, i am not able to lift what i use to that is for sure, but i look 25% bigger and my body fat is prob sitting around 8%, ive read many articles on heavy lifter dropping weight fast, i prob had 5 pounds water weight and the fact i was eating 6000-8000 calories a day, now im like 100grams carbs 200 fat and 300 grams protein and 2000ish calories the weight that will come off will be fast, and at the starting week some people drop 10-15 pounds, not common at all. guys that are cutting weight that dont gain weight or dont eat enough, then yeah it is gonna be alot harder for them, but someone like me who was at 271ish and eating what i use to eat, the weight comes of a bit quicker
